* The 2024-2025 ski season kicked off with the best opening in recent years on Saturday, December 7th. We will again track the number of days we ski in 2024 with our ski buddies.

* Mountain Creek & New Jersey Record for the most days skiing in one season.

*   With the end of ski season came a rush of spirit writing which lead to writing and self publishing of three new children's educational books.  The main character of the first book is "Mr. Thumb" is seeking more respect for his importance as the vehicle for texting on cell phones, the second book's main character is "Mr. #1" who seeks respect for numbers and mathematics and in the third book Alex asks his father about the importance of telling the truth.  All books are available as eBooks and paperback.  To view all of John's books type "Dr. John T. *  What happened to Buffy's Blizzard you ask?  It happened on April 12, one month late.  We woke up and looked out the window and what did we see - snow!  Our thoughts of skiing and snow had long been replaced by golf and a visit to St John.  Our Snow Measuring Man had been retired for the season but he wanted out to measure. 4 inches!

*  Our 2025 ski season ended with us having 92 days on snow thanks to our friends at Mountain Creek.  Pond Skimming was cancelled for the 1st time in memory because of a lack of snow but Mountain Creek hosted an end-of-year celebration for season pass holders with free goodies, music and a raffle.   Peter took the photo below of Buffy and John enjoying the celebration with Jimbo and John Paulovich and Peter. 

To get an idea of our season Buffy kept an incomplete record of some of the days we skied on her cell phone.  They were: 594,450 vertical feet, 703 miles,  1,196 runs, and a daily average of 47.5 miles.  It was fun!

 

*  Day 91 on snow and the party continues with new friends on the Cab lifr.   Looks like tomorrow, March 23rd will be the last day of the season celebrated with Pond Skimming at Mountain Creek North Peak with many of our ski and snowboarding buddies.  Thanks to all our MC staff friends for a GREAT ski season.

*  Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Buffy and John kicked off the day with their 86 day of skiing at Mountain Creed wearing their tams and Irish shirts.  They were greeted by the "Great Leprechaun" Tim Stone foa a "soft" day on the slopes.

*  Friday, March 14th was Buffy's birthday which we celebrated at Mountain Creek on the ski slopes with our ski buddies.  We ended our 83 ski day at MC South where Buffy was surprised to have our friend, Kink's chef Chase provide Buffy with a free special birthday lunch prepared just for her.  We enjoyed the lunch on the deck.  Chase and his staff appeared to sing "Happy Birthday to Buffy.  It was a wonderful day.

*  We celebrated a BIG 80 birthday for our ski buddy John Paulovich at Heather and Dave Kahl's beautiful barn.  Many friends from the past at Hidden Valley Racing attended making the event that much more special.

 

*  Partying on the deck at MC South with friends Super G, Scott, Donnie & daughter, continues following  great day of skiing.

 

*  Today, March 1st on our 72nd day of skiing this season (witch matches our total for last ski season) Buffy organized a pre-birthday celebration on the deck at the South Mountain Creek Lodge that included many of our friends we ski with everyday.  Sunday is John's real birthday, March 2nd, and we hope to make it another great day on the slope for day 74.  And the Buffy cake was delicious.  We are blessed!

  *  Another Rotten Day in Heaven!  A fun day on the slopes!  Met some ski racing coaches from the good old days at Hidden Valley who were working the High School State Championship race.  Got them to take a break for photo.  Then off to the South Deck to party with UT Mark and more. .  "Let the Party Continue.

*  Day 59 on the slopes at Mountain Creek South with friends celebrating our blessings with our ski buddy, Otto who turns 93 years old on March 12th and still skies as he did when he learned as a kid in Austria.

    *  Friends - you never have too many!  Friends take a break from skiing and riding at the top of Bear Peak for a group photo to capture the memory of a great day on the slopes at Mountain Creek.

Do they look like they are having fun?  Let the party continue!

*  Hidden Valley friend and friend and past race coach joined the fun at south with the Mountain Creek regulars.

 

*  One of the joys of skiing is friends and watching little ones discovering the joy of skiing.  The photo below captures the celebration of our young ski buddy Lincoln showing his father, grandfather and Buffy and John he can ski the Sugar Slope at Mountain Creed without the tether.  A great day!

   *  On the 33 day of skiing at Mountain Creek some of the regulars stopped to have their fun day on the slopes captured by a photo taken by Lift Operator and friend Joe.

*  Half the fun of skiing is the friends you meet and have fun with on the snow and socializing on the deck of the lodge with an adult beverage or two after a fun day of skiing.  Today, January 6th was one of those days - skiing with our ski buddies Ed and Kenny.  Let the party continue!

    *  A Christmas Day tradition was continued by Buffy and John of giving Christmas cookies to the Lift Operator, Ski Pass Checkers and other Mountain Creek staff to thank them for their work during the ski season.

   *  The 2024-25 ski season kicked off qt Mountain Creek with Buffy and John continuing the tradition of riding the 1st chair on the Sugar Slope with friends Keith and new friend Andorna.

*  We got the first snow of winter on November 22nd after a long drought   This gave us motivation to start thinking about the upcoming ski season.  Looking for a GREAT ski season.  Time will tell.
