Rules

For this variant, it is suggested to play with 3 people but can be played with more. This variant is played like standard Magic with the following changes:

At the end of your upkeep you “Spin the Wheel.” To do this you shuffle the “Wheel” and have someone cut it and flip over the top card.

Follow the rules of the card type. They are as follows:

  • Basic Land: All creatures you control gain the appropriate landwalk until end of turn.

  • Non-basic Land: When you flip this card place it aside. You may shuffle this back into the deck to take an extra turn. Use this ability as a sorcery.

  • Enchant Creature: When you flip one of these, put it on a creature you control. If you do not control a creature shuffle the card back into the “Wheel” and ignore the spin. At anytime in the game, as an instant, you may shuffle this enchant creature card back into the “Wheel” and spin again.

  • Instants: Treat this as if you just cast it. You may pick the target of the spell. If you can't, it resolves with no effect. After it resolves, shuffle it back into the “Wheel.”

  • Sorceries: Set this card aside and you may play it at any time you would be able to play a sorcery. After you use it, shuffle it back into the “Wheel.”

  • Enchantments: When you flip an enchantment it becomes an "Enchant World" card. These affects stay in play until another one is pulled out of the deck. When another enchantment is flipped shuffle the first one back into the “Wheel.”

  • Artifacts: When you flip one of these, place it into play. It can never be removed and it affects all players.

  • The X Card: When you flip this card you skip the rest of your turn. You may not respond to this card being flipped.

Deck Construction

When constructing your deck for this variant you must meet the following guidelines:

  • Each deck must have at least two colors.

  • Each deck must have at least 6 of each basic land for every color in the deck. For example if you have blue, red, and white in your deck you must have at least 6 islands, 6 mountains, and 6 plains in your deck.

You must also build a “Wheel” deck before playing. Use the following guidelines:

  • 20 Basic Lands (4 of each type)

  • 1 Non-basic Land (any type)

  • 5 Enchant Creature (1 of each color)

  • 25 Instants (5 of each color)

  • 10 Sorceries (2 of each color)

  • 5 Enchantments (1 of each color)

  • 5 Artifacts (any artifacts that do not tap for an activation cost)

  • 1 “X” Card (Take any card and place an X on the face with a marker. Make sure you cannot see the X from the backside.)

Sideboard

You can have a 15-card sideboard in Constructed and in Limited the cards you don’t use are your sideboard.

Banned & Restricted List

When playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended Wheel of Fortune then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List.

Mulligan Rules

Standard “Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.

Before each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he has no cards left in his and. After the participant, who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
