Silent
Auction Draft
For this game you will need three
15-card booster packs or its equivalent (45 cards) for each player
playing. It is recommended to have four people per pod.
Rules
The four
players will sit in a circle with their positions chosen at random. Each
pod will have a judge who will also serve as a banker and an auctioneer.
This person should not be drafting. Each player will receive 3 booster
packs (each player should receive the same type of packs, i.e. 1
Invasion pack, 1 Planeshift, and 1 Apocalypse) and 200 dollars (coins or
fake money) from the bank for which they may bid on cards.
- To
begin the draft, player #1 will open a booster pack and spread the
cards out on the table so everyone can see them. They should be laid
out in three rows of five.
- Each
player will be given a draft form for each pack opened that should
look like this:

- After
each pack is opened each player will record his bid amount in the
space provided for each card. A player’s total amount bid may not
exceed the total amount of money the player has remaining. For
example if you only have $50 left then your total on the sheet above
may not be higher then $50.
- After
each round of bidding the banker will collect the bid sheets and
inform the players who won the bid for each card (the winning bid
amount will be announced) and inform each of them how much money
they have left in their bank account. In the event of a tie,
priority will be given to the player with the most amount of money
left in his bank before the start of the round. In the event of a
tie in the amount of money, the player who opened the pack will be
given priority and the person to his left will have second priority
and so on. The person with the highest priority will get the card.
- After
that pack is completed player #2 will open his pack and follow the
above procedure. Continue until all 12 packs have been drafted.
- Please
note after the draft how much money each player has left in his
bank.
- Once
each table has drafted all 12 packs, players will construct a 40-card
minimum deck from the cards they have drafted. They may add
as many basic lands as necessary.
- When
playing, compare the amount of money left after the draft. In each
match, the person who had the most amount of money left may choose
who plays first in the first game. In the event of a tie use a
random method.
Sideboard
Your
remaining cards are considered your sideboard. You may remove any card
from your deck and add any number of cards from your sideboard, as long
as your deck still meet the deck construction guide lines. At the end of
your match you must return your deck to its original form. Example:
After game one you decide to take 2 cards out of your deck and add 3
cards from your sideboard. At the end of the match you must return the
two cards back into your deck and remove the 3 you added before you play
your next opponent.
Mulligan
Rules
Standard
“Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.
Before
each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his
hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player
wishes, until he has no cards left in his hand. After the participant,
who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether
to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the
opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind
