Rules

Standard Magic: the Gathering Rules apply with the following exceptions:

  • All legends may not be the target of spells or abilities.

  • All players may not be the target of spells or abilities.

  • Any player may pay 2 life to prevent 1 damage to any legend.

  • Each player starts with three legends in play. The combined casting cost of all three legends may not be more then 15.

  • All three of your legends must have one color in common with another legend. This means that you may have one red legend, one red/black gold legend, and one black legend.

  • When a legend leaves play it controller loses half of his life, rounded down.

  • Each player starts with 50 life.

Deck Construction

Use standard deck construction rules. Other then the three legends that you start with, you may not have any other legends in your deck. You may not include any card that produces tokens.

There is not sideboard for this variant.

Banned & Restricted List

Banned

Any card that produces tokens.

When playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended Legend’s magic then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List in addition to this list.

Mulligan Rules

Standard “Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.

Before each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he has no cards left in his and. After the participant, who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
