Squandered Magic

Rules

For this variant each player will need two decks; one “Land” deck, with nothing but land, and one “Base” deck, without any land. The game is played as normal with the following exceptions:

When you start the game each player will only draw 5 cards from the “Base” deck.
During your draw phase you will draw one card from your “Base” deck and two from your “Land” deck.
You may play two lands per turn.
Whenever a land is tapped for mana, sacrifice it.
At any time you cannot draw a card from either deck, you lose the game.

Deck Construction

Both decks (Land and Base) must be at least 60 cards each.

Sideboard

There is not sideboard for this variant.

Banned & Restricted List

When playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended Squander Magic then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List.

Mulligan Rules

You may not take a mulligan in this variant.
