Rules

In addition to normal Magic rules use the following when playing this variant:

  • When a creature is brought into play it gains “Fading 3 (This creature comes into play with three fade counters on it. At the beginning of your upkeep, remove a fade counter from it. If you can’t, sacrifice it.)”

  • If a creature already has the fading ability then it now has “Fading 0” instead of its normal fading.

  • When a creature comes into play you can increase the amount of fading counters by paying one colorless mana for each additional fading counter you would like to put on it. This cannot be done when casting the creature, you may only do this when it comes into play.

  • You may also increase the amount of fading counter by paying two colorless mana during your upkeep for each additional counter you would like to add.

Deck Construction

Standard deck construction rules apply. You must build a 60-card minimum deck for Constructed and a 40-card minimum deck for Limited.

Sideboard

You can have a 15-card sideboard in Constructed and in Limited the cards you didn’t use are your sideboard.

Banned & Restricted List

When playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended Imperfect Summoning then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List.

Mulligan Rules

Standard “Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.

Before each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he has no cards left in his hand. After the participant, who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
