No Land Magic

Rules

This variant is played with normal Magic rule with the following exceptions:

Your deck may not contain any basic lands.
Any card in your deck may be put into play as a basic land. It becomes a basic land of the color it is; Black cards become Swamps, Blue cards become Islands, Red cards become Mountains, Green cards become Forests, White cards become Plains, Artifacts become a colorless non-basic land, and Gold cards come into play TAPPED become a non-basic land that produces mana of it's colors.
If for some reason your land gets returned to your hand the next time you play them you may play them as either a land or the spell.

Note: This variant is usually played when all you have is booster packs and no land to use.

Deck Construction

Use standard deck construction when playing this variant.

Sideboard

You can have a 15-card sideboard in Constructed and in Limited the cards you don’t use are your sideboard.

Banned & Restricted List

When playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing. So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended No Land Magic then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List.

Mulligan Rules

Standard “Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.

Before each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he has no cards left in his hand. After the participant, who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
