Block Party

Rules

Ever wonder how well a Tempest Block deck would do against a Odyssey Block deck? Well in this variant you can. Each player will build a deck from one of the blocks and play it against each other.

Deck Construction

Each player chooses one of the following Blocks and then builds a legal constructed deck.

Odyssey Block: Odyssey, Torment, and Judgment.
Invasion Block: Invasion, Planeshift, and Apocalypse.
Mercadian Block: Mercadian Masques, Nemesis, and Prophecy.
Saga Block: Urza’s Saga, Urza’s Legacy, and Urza’s Destiny.
Tempest Block: Tempest, Stronghold, and Exodus.
Mirage Block: Mirage, Weatherlight, and Visions.
Ice Age Block: Ice Age, Homelands, and Alliances.

Sideboard

You may have a 15-card sideboard for this variant.

Banned & Restricted List

Odyssey Block: None.
Invasion Block: None.
Mercadian Block: Lin Sivvi, Defiant Hero and Rishadan Port.

Saga Block: Gaea’s Cradle, Memory Jar, Serra’s Sanctum, Time Spiral, Tolarian Academy, Voltaic Key, and Windfall.

Tempest Block: Cursed Scroll.
Mirage Block: Squandered Resources.
Ice Age Block: Amulet of Quoz, Thawing Glaciers, Timmerian Fiends, and Zuran Orb.

Mulligan Rules

Standard “Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.

Before each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player wishes, until he has no cards left in his hand. After the participant, who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
