Scavenger
Hunt
Rules
Standard
Magic: the Gathering Rules apply.
Deck
Construction
Scavenger
Hunt deck construction varies greatly on the list you are given.
Typically it is a 75-card list of cards to look for to make a deck.
Normally you can use cards that are Type 1 legal. This gives you a
greater card range to look through to get your 75 cards. Even if the
deck fits within the confines of the hunt it must still be Type 1 legal.
In other words, even though Time
Spiral may be used in more than one category, only 1 copy is
permitted since it is restricted in Type 1. Of the 75-card hunt list, 15
cards of the player’s choice will be assigned to their sideboard.
A
single card cannot count for more than one category, but the same card
may be used to fulfill multiple categories by playing with multiple
copies of that card. In other words, Ghitu
Slinger (eligible in several categories: echo, “187”,
gray ogre, etc.), only counts once for whatever category it is placed
in, but multiple copies of the slinger can be played to fit into other
categories.

Banned

When
playing this variant it is usually decided what Type you will be playing.
So, if you are playing Type 1, Type 1.5, Type 2, or Extended Scavenger
Hunt then, follow that format’s Banned and Restricted List in addition
to this list.
Mulligan
Rules
Standard
“Paris” Mulligan is used for this variant.
Before
each game begins, a player may, for any reason, reshuffle and redraw his
hand, drawing one less card. This may be repeated as often as the player
wishes, until he has no cards left in his hand. After the participant,
who plays first, mulligans as often as he likes, the decision of whether
to mulligan passes to the other player. Once a player passes the
opportunity to mulligan, that player may not change his mind.
History
This variant came
from Event Horizons 2001 Invitational Format.
