Varipetro is a small village southwest of the city of Chania. It is about ten kilometers away. It can be reached when you take the road from Chania to Omalos and than take the eit to the village. The village is surrounded by olive groves. You will arrive at a square with a war memorial and a bust. In the village there is a large yellow church with a bell tower. Varipetro is a very quiet rural village with bougainvillas and fruit trees. There are no real sights of interest in the village, but just outside Varipetro if you drive in direction of Mylonia you will pass the eit to the Agios Kyriaki monastery and the Kastelos fortress. The distance to the monastery is about a mile.
