Asimi is a reasonably large and mostly agricultural village on the north side of the green and fertile the Messara Plain, situated between Pirgos and Agii Deka, in the south of the island of Crete. Tourism is as good as unknown here. It's a vibrant yet traditional little village, and every minute you will see a tractor going down the main road. There are old stone houses, a couple of gas stations, banks, an ATM machine, a bakery, a super market, shops, vegetable fields and small tavernas where the locals gather for a cup of Greek Greek coffee and a talk.
The large white village church is dominantly present. It is situated on a small square and has a large dome in the middle of the house and three half domes in the front of the building.
