The village of Armeni (there are at least three villages with this name in Crete) is situated in the Apokoronas in Crete, on the east side of Chania and close to the coastal village of Kalives. It can be reached by taking the exit to Armeni at Kalives, or the exit to Armeni from the highway in between Chania and Rethymnon.
Armeni is a lively and quite a substantial village that is situated on the banks of the Kilairis River. This river is surrounded by platania trees giving much shade so the villagers can enjoy some time out of the sun from time to time.
The area is fertile and the soil is rich. Around Armeni you will find many olive groves and orange and avocado trees.
