Moni is a small village in the southwest of Crete, a few kilometers from Sougia on the Chania - Prases - Rodvani - Moni - Sougia road. The village consists of a few houses, and there is a small taverna where you can make a stop. It is a quiet village and the houses are set amongst the forest. There are many flowers and a large cactus in the village.
In the valley next to the road there is a small Byzantine church that dates from the 13th century. You can reach it over a foot-path. The church is part of a cemetery and is hidden behind the trees. The clock tower is standing apart from the church. Inside the church there are Byzanine frescoos that date from 1315.
