Skoutelonas is a small village in a row of more that spread along the old national road between
Tavronitis and Kolimbari in the west of Crete. The distance to Kolimbari is 2 kilometers and to Chania 22 kilometers. The vibrant tourist resort of Platanias is 10 kilometers away. It is not a particular special place,
but one with a lovely church. In the village there are some accommodations for visiting tourists that want to stay and enjoy the nearby beach. There is also a large taverne.
The houses in Skoutelonas are surrounded by flowers and most of them have a garden where residents grow vegetables for their own use. The area around Skoutelonas is quite flat and the soil is fertile. There are fields where grapes are grown for wine and there are fields with all kinds of vegetables. At the nearby farms chickens, ducks, turkeys and goats run around.
