Description
Rue essential oil is extracted from Ruta graveolens from the Rutaceae family. It is also called Garden Rue and Herbygrass.

This oil is HAZARDOUS AND TOXIC! It is both a skin and mucus membrane irritant. It is an abortifacient as well as being neurotoxic and phototoxic.
Origin Of Rue Essential Oil
Originally from Europe, the plant produces an ornamental, shrub-like herb that has a powerful, aromatic scent that is either bitter or acrid. Rue has tough, woody branches with petite and smooth, bluish-green leaves.
Ancient medicine practiced using Rue oil as a remedy for poison, and the herb itself used for digestive complaints, hysteria and nervous afflictions. Many cultures believed it to be magical, providing protection.
