Description
Citronella essential oil is extracted from Cymbopogon nardus (a.k.a. Andropogon nardus) from the Graminae (Poaceae) family. It is also referred to as Sri Lanka or Lenabatu citronella.
Precautions
Citronella may irritate sensitive skin and cause dermatitis in certain individuals.

The therapeutic properties of Citronella oil include antiseptic, deodorant, insecticide, parasitic, stimulant and tonic.
Uses
Citronella oil is exceptionally useful as an insect repellent. Use it in a spray, a diffuser or put some on a cotton ball and toss it in with your linens.
It assists in ridding dogs and cats of fleas.
