Description

 

Rose Geranium essential oil is extracted from Pelargonium graveolens or P. odorantissimim, of the Geraniaceae family. It is also called geranium oil but rose geranium has a stronger rose base note.

When extracted from the yellowing leaves it has a stronger tosy aroma, whiel the greener, younger leaves produce a more lemony smell. The latter is ofter referred to as "lemon plant".

 

Precautions

 

This oil is non-irritating, non-sensitizing and non-toxic, yet it may cause sensitivity in some people because it balances the hormonal system. AVOID DURING PREGNANCY!

 

Therapeutic Properties

 

Rose Geranium oil's therapeutic properties include antibiotic, anti-depressant, anti-infectious, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, diuretic, haemostatic and tonic.

 

Uses

 

Geranium Rose essential oil is beneficial for conditions of acne, bruises, burns, cuts, dermatitis, eczema, hemorrhoids, lice, mosquite repellant, ringworm, ulcers, breast engorgement, edema, poor circulation, sore throat, tonsillitis, PMS, menopausal complaints, stress and neuralgia.

 

Burners & Vaporizers

Add to vapor therapy for anxiety, fatigue, menopausal complaints, PMS, mild depression, stress and tension.

 

Blended In The Bath

Add to massage oil, or dilute in the bath for anxiety, fatigue,water retension, edema, eczema, shingles, cellulite, bruises, ringworm haemorrhoids, menstrual irregularities, menopausal complaints, PMS,breast engorgement, mild depression, stress and tension. Dilute in shampoo for treating head lice.

 

Blended In Lotions & Creams

Add to base cream or lotion for eczema, repelling insects, shingles, burns, scalds, cillulite, ringworm, bruises and breast engorgement.

 

Blends Well With

 

Angelica, Basil, Bergamot, Carrot Seed, Cedarwood, Citronella, Clary Sage, Grapefruit, Jasmine, Lavender, Lime, Neroli, Orange and Rosemary.
