As soon as your hero reaches Level 16, you have the option of either questing in the Mountains, in the Dungeons, or in both areas if you have a lot of ropes and torches to go around. There aren't a whole lot of weapons to be found here, but just about all five of the weapons that are dropped by the monsters can probably upgrade whatever equipment you may be wearing at this point. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on a Silver Giant Maul, be sure to hold on to it because it's probably the best right-handed weapon that you'll be wielding for a while. Bring lots and lots of rope.

Great Helm

The Great Helm is basically a helmet that provides more defense and subtracts more skill than a Miners Cap/Mythril Helm. It's a great helmet to have if you're questing in the Mounds and are tired of having the Worms eat your helmet, but if you're planning to quest in the Dungeons, you may want to keep this helmet in your storage and bring it out of there as soon as your character is strong enough to quest in the Docks because the Sea Serpents won't try to eat it. Great Helms are also one of the items that you'll need to complete the Noble Trophies mission, so keep a few of them in your storage regardless.

Rams Horn

Often dropped by the Goats, a Rams Horn is basically a weapon that provides more defense and subtracts more skill than a War Tusk. It's a worthy replacement for your War Tusk/Goblin Shield and you're going to want to keep some of them in your storage because these horns are needed to complete the Noble Trophies mission.

Giant Maul

Unlike other two-handed weapons that you've found up to this point, Giant Mauls provide a solid amount of attack points that usually can't be matched by your current Right and Left-handed weapons, but it subtracts too much skill to be useful. Still, you should keep some of these mauls in your storage because they're needed to complete the Noble Trophies mission.
