As soon as your hero reaches Level 16, you have the option of either questing in the Mountains, in the Dungeons, or in both areas if you have a lot of ropes and torches to go around. If you choose to quest in the Dungeons, you'll find some really nice weapons and armour that should be good enough to upgrade some of the equipment that you're wearing. For one thing, the Mystic Robes that are dropped by the hypnotically inclined Mages provide a very nice amount of defense and are probably the only body armanent in the game that adds skill points. Another native weapon to the Dungeons is the Rat Tail Whip; providing an excellent mix of Attack, Defense, and Skill, the Rat Tail Whip should be good enough to upgrade whatever right-handed weapon that you may be holding. Be sure to sell the two-handed weapons for a plethora of marks and don't be afraid to wear your Miners Cap or Mythril Helm here because none of the monsters are going to eat your equipment.

Miners Cap

Unlike in the Mounds, none of the monsters in the Dungeons are capable of eating a Miners Cap, so don't hesitate to equip one of them. It comes with the Glow attribute and allows you to quest in the Dungeons without having to waste marks for torches.

Mystic Robes

By now, you're probably more than tired of having a Mythril Mail equipped to your body slot. Mystic Robes is an excellent replacement for your Mythril Mail, providing much more defense and skill. It also comes with Bless and Lucky attributes; Bless should add 1 or 2 defense to your Mystic Robes and Luck won't do anything at all. Sell your extra robes for a little more than a thousand marks.

Rat Tail Whip

Providing a good amount of attack and skill along with some defense, the Rat Tail Whip is a decent right-handed weapon that should be powerful enough to replace your current right-handed weapon. It's associated with the Disease attribute, which is always a little helpful to have. Replace this weapon with a Gladius as soon as your character is strong enough to survive in the Hie Brasil region.

Goblin Shield

The Goblin Shields that are dropped by the Berzerkers in the Dungeons are identical to those that are dropped in the Mounds, but you no longer have to rely on them to provide defense points because Dragon Shields are easily available. Sell your Goblin Shields for about a hundred marks or so.

Dragon Shield

The Dragon Shield is a very nice improvement over the Goblin Shield and it should act as a replacement for your current left-handed weapon as long as defense is more important to you than attack. These shields are often dropped by the Snots.

Weird Knife

Identical to the Weird Knives that are dropped by the Berzerkers in the Mounds, the Weird Knife is a mediocre weapon that takes up two of your weapon slots. Sell it for several hundred marks because just about any other two-handed weapon that you find in the Dungeons will have better stats.

Great Pike

Unlike most other two-handed weapons that you've found up to this point, a Great Pike provides a solid amount of attack points that your current Right and Left-handed weapons may not be able to match. Even then, such Great Pikes are few and far in between, and it's often a good idea to sell them for a few thousand marks instead.

Mystic Staff

Although the Mystic Staff provides a balanced amount of Attack, Defense, and Skill, a Rat Tail Whip/Dragon Shield combination can very easily exceed the stats of this two-handed weapon. Be sure to sell this one for a few thousand marks.
