After successfully venturing in the Fields, the Forest is the next location for your hero to quest in. You can't enter the Forest area until your character has reached Level 8, but you should be able to fare well against the monsters here if too many struggles weren't involved in your adventures in the Fields. You'll be replacing most of the weapons that you equipped during your adventures in the Fields and you may be able to get your hands on the elusive Crystal War Tusk if you're lucky enough. Be warned, however, because the monsters here aren't pushovers and can easily slaughter your hero if he or she isn't prepared for them. Truly, the Forest presents a whole new challenge.

Mythril Mail

Dropped by three of the monsters in the Forest, the Mythril Mail is by far the most common armour to be found here. It serves as a good replacement for your Half Plate/Scale Suit, providing more defense points and subtracting less skill than the body armour you last equipped. Mythril Mails are one of the items that you'll need to complete the Noble Trophies mission, so it may be a good idea to keep some of them in your storage.

Mercury Sandals

Mercury Sandals is basically an improvement over the regular pair of Sandals that's sold at Aimee Suitor's Armoury. Because it only provides skill, it's a waste of a slot and shouldn't be equipped unless you're wielding a weapon with the Panic attribute. Just sell these sandals for a few hundred marks and use them to buy a pair of Doc Martins at Smithy's.

Dwarf Axe

Although the Dwarf Axe is a respectable right-handed weapon that can replace your Broad Sword/Steel Sword, it's easily rivaled by the Unicorn Horns that are often dropped by the Unicorns. It's also unlikely that you're going to be able to get your hands on one of these axes during your first few days of playing since the Snot is one of the more powerful monsters in the Forest. Even if your character has solid stats and has a relatively easy time defeating the Snots, finding a Dwarf Axe still isn't going to be easy because they aren't dropped often. If you're lucky enough to find some Dwarf Axes, be sure to hold on to them because you'll need them to complete the Noble Trophies mission.

Unicorn Horn

Up to this point, the Unicorn Horn is probably the best right-handed weapon that you'll have. The horn can serve as a very good replacement for your Broad Sword/Steel Sword and is often dropped when you provide assistance to the Unicorns. If you're a Peasant and don't want to fight the Second Castle Guard in order to gain access to the Royal Court, be sure to save a Unicorn Horn or two because it's one of the items that you'll need to complete the Queen's Folly mission.

War Tusk

Providing a solid amount of attack and defense points, the War Tusk should be a good replacement for your Sword Breaker/Spike Shield. They're often dropped by boars, and if you're really lucky, one of the boars will drop the crystal variant of this weapon for you.

Battle Axe

The Battle Axe is one of the two weapons in the Forest that takes up two slots; unfortunately, it isn't a very good one. You've probably been able to find Pikes in the Fields with better stats, and if you're really into two-handed weapons, an Elf Bow is often a much better alternative. However, you should on to some of your Battle Axes because they're one of the weapons that you'll need to complete the Noble Trophies mission.

Elf Bow

Dropped by the Elves and the Snots, Elf Bows are one of the two weapons in the Forest that take up two slots. Although these bows are clearly better than Battle Axes, equipping these two-handed weapons still isn't a good idea when you consider that the net stats of a Unicorn Horn/War Tusk combo will usually exceed the stats of an Elf Bow. Still, it's a good idea to hold on to some of your Elf Bows because they're one of the weapons that you'll need to complete the Noble Trophies mission.
