Name: "harry georgatos"Apparently De Palma at the start of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE had a sophisticated love triangle scene between Jim, Claire and Ethan before the fake motel in the warehouse sequence in Kiev, plus other moments taken out and re-cut by Tom Cruise because it didn't test well in audience test screenings. One of the problems with De Palma's Mission film was that the love triangle femme romance wasn't dealt with in the film even though in the trailer there's a shot of Ethan and Claire passionately kissing! Reading about the major changes that happened to the film it's time for an extended cut of De Palma's Mission film to be released! On the eve of the films release in 1996 De Palma and Cruise had a falling out and De Palma would not do any media interviews for the film. Same happened on Mission2 with John Woo whose film was a 3 and 1/2 hour cut!! Cruise and Paramount told Woo it can't be over two hours and brought in editor Stuart Baird who took out a whopping 90 minutes and damaged the film!!!!
