I've paid minimal attention to the college season this year.  OSU's suspension is part of it.  The reallignment mess is part.  The belief that the SEC fixes games (didn't get to T A&M cause they didn't believe they'd HAVe to).  But here's the way I see em

Ohio State still just barely in the top 25.  Schedule was KWAP!   51st.  Nebraska is probably a slightly better team and will represent well at the right BCS game.

Kent State?  OK, congrats to the Golden Flashes, but you're not in the top 50.  I've never had much love for the MAC and playing the 122nd toughest schedule in the country won't change that.

Now, on to the show.

#1.  Alabama.  Best team in the country. 

#2.  Oregon.  Offensive juggernaut.  Only loss was to the team that, had officials not blown a critical call, would have also beaten ND.  (what would the SEC say to a Stanford/Oregon top two??!)

#3.  Notre Dame. 

#4.  A&M.  

Best of the rest, Stanford, K State, Florida, Oklahoma, Georgia, Okie State.

My #1?  Bama.  Still

Buckeyes?  GREAT game.  I was surprised they won.  I'll let em back into the top 25.  I have Michigan at 24.  C-bus will make the difference.  Buckeyes by 2+

Remeber whenever an Elph makes reference to the "gool old days" the Donks are quick to shriek "back to Jim Crow when women weren't allowed to vote" and all that horrible stuff? 

Remember when the media does the same to Donks when THEY talk about reverting back to an earlier time?  Of COURSE you don't.  Because they don't.  Elphs are excoriated for historical references, Donks are fawned over.  Which is why we get such claptrap and twaddle as this.

Niners over the Texans ... now more than ever

That's after the HOU D slows down P Manning in the AFC title game.  Other AFC teams: PAtriots and Ravens.

Niners will beat the Bears again.  Others:  Packers, Seahawks, Giants.  Dont think the Saints are gonna make it but I'm not gonna give up yet.  A win over the 49ers would be GREAT ... and a Dolphins upset of the Seahawks wouldn't hurt.

AFC:  Texans over the Broncos ... Patriots ... Ravens  ... ugh.

Saints?  Up to #15.  Behind Steelers, Vikings & Cowboys.

Let me have it.  I actually watched aTm beat Bama yesterday.  GREAT game.  Earlier in the day I'd watched Harver beat Yale 29-29 in 1968.  The similarities in the game were striking.  But 'nuff said.

1.  Alabama.  Still.  I don't LIKE it but there it is.

2.  Undefeated Oregon.  Go Beavers

3.  Kansas State.  4-0 vs top 30 teams.  Real football.  Not that viewo game stuff.

4.  Texas A&M.  Two losses but a win over then #1 Bama AT Bama!

5.  Notre Dame.  Nine out of Ten network execs pick ND!

Ohio State not in my top 25.  Easy schedule.  Gets tougher the next two weeks.  We'll see.  Florida State is probably the only top 25 team with an easier schedule.  I'll take the Badgers -3.5 at Camp Randall and Buckeyes -2.5 over the school up north in C-bus the following week.
