It shouldn't need to be said but for some reason apparently it does. Tiny minds are having trouble grasping the concept but Ilya Somin does a nice job trying to explain I to them using shot, succinct Anglo-Saxon words.

If you suffer through the experience of actually reading The Turner Diaries, as I did, you will find that author William Pierce did not support anything remotely resembling limited government; indeed, he explicitly repudiated limited government conservatism in the book. . . .

Then there's the argument being put forward by the left that the right is being inconsistent in Arizona by arguing for smaller government but insisting he government DO something about the illegal immigration issue. Here's the deal: The Constitution GIVES power to the feds. Anything not given is held by the people. See the Tenth Amendment. One of the things we DID give was the duty to defend the boarders. The feds aren't doing it. Arizona wants them to. Pretty simple. Everything else the feds ARE doing: health care, taking over GM, etc., is viewed as an abrogation of that power – an aberration perpetrated over the last 75 years. Any questions?

Police chased reporters away from the White House and closed Lafayette Park today in response to a gay rights protest in which several service members in full uniform handcuffed themselves to the White House gate to protest "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

People who have covered the White House for years tell me that's an extremely unusual thing to do in an area that regularly features protests.

No kidding.

Unless they did something particularly moronic, the police left most of these cretins alone. Mostly they were exercising their God-given right to make jackasses of themselves in public. The thing is, the press were around to photograph Mother Sheehan when she was arrested.

I'm guessing our Flickr-friendly Prez didn't want any nasty photos of the police doing what they do to morons who chain themselves to public property. But more specifically, he didn't want any photos of United States service men and women being arrested.

Especially if they happen to be gay.

Every day I sit back and watch this administration actually does things the Bush administration was only accused of. And for the most part, our self appointed task force on "afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted" just roll over and beg for belly rubs.

Finally a day off and some time to myself. Might as well jump right to last weeks disconnect in the hate department that just keeps getting weirder.

Actually, there is a lot of incendiary hate out there -- here, for example. The voiceover is by U.S. citizen (and spiritual mentor, most recently, to Major Hasan) Ayman al-Awlaki. He is explaining the rationale for killing identified individuals, including the creators of South Park.

I'll close out this post what what I THINK Presidnet Obama is saying about Arizona trying to force the US Gov't to live up to Article IV section 4 of the US Constitution: It's illega to make illegals illegal and it's agains the law to pass a law enforcing the law.

Veteran Rep. Babette Josephs (D., Phila.) last Thursday accused her primary opponent, Gregg Kravitz, of pretending to be bisexual in order to pander to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender voters, a powerful bloc in the district.

"I outed him as a straight person," Josephs said during a fund-raiser at the Black Sheep Pub & Restaurant...

Kravitz, 29, said that he is sexually attracted to both men and women and called Josephs' comments offensive...

"We've hit a new high point when candidates are accused of pretending to be gay to win a seat," said Mark Segal, publisher of the Philadelphia Gay News.

Hmm. Now you mention it, I wonder if Barney Frank isn't just putting it on...

Three bisexual men are suing a national gay-athletic organization, saying they were discriminated against during the Gay Softball World Series held in the Seattle area two years ago.

The three Bay Area men say the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance in essence deemed them not gay enough to participate in the series.

Without question this is the fine point of the matter. The income tax – instituted by Democrat Woodrow Wilson – is an involuntary tax that requires citizens to disgorge their hard earned property. Since, as Will Durant said, “communism begins where private property ends,” Marshall is right to point that there are precious few rights remaining if government can take away your private property. We must come to understand that lower taxes literally are the equivalent to greater freedom. We can begin to restore our freedom by scrapping the involuntary income tax in favor of a voluntary sales tax.
