FOUR STATES WITH MASSIVE OBAMACARE COST INCREASES: The article discusses four states (Tennessee, Illinois, Kentucky and Georgia) where approximately one in four people “covered with Obamacare plans or other individual market plans will see sizable price increases.” Get this: “More Obamacare rate increases will trickle out over the next few weeks, with the healthcare law’s fourth enrollment season set to begin Nov. 1.” This is an election issue — or it should be. A loud election issue. “If you like your doctor you can keep your…well, never mind.”

THAT MEANS IT’S WORKING: Even Left-Leaning Econ Writers Are Impoverished by Obamacare.

“We’re Hiring Economics Writers,” says the headline of a post at the web site FiveThirtyEight.

Good for them.

Then they write:

“This is a part-time staff position (up to 29 hours per week) and does not offer benefits.”

Any idea why they chose 29 hours?

Answer: Obamacare.

Been WATCHING these movies in atimely fashion, just behind in my posting, but we'll get caught up.

1962.  Won 7 Oscars but it's only #82 on IMDB. 148 on Flickchart.  #2 for me.  GREAT score.  BEAUTIFUL camara work.  Decent history.  Solid acting from Quinn, Sharrif and especially O'Toole, along with such names as Hawkins, Quayle, Guinness, Ferer, and Rains.  Scripted by the inimitable Robert Bolt and directed by David Lean, Lawrence of Arabia is one of those films without a weakness, despite drawing complaints for its near four hour length. The dialogue, cinematography, soundtrack and especially direction are superlative; likewise the supporting actors. But it is O'Toole at his charismatic best who steals the show in his starring debut; he never looked back. It may take an effort to watch this movie, but is well worth the ride and will, by the bye, provide some insight into the fractious and volatile world of Arab politics.

Ah Junior High.  25% of the girls are 16-18.  10% are under 10.  Sadly 50% of the boys are under 10.  And there's always one boy who's 1u8 and has no idea what to do with it.

In other news:  I watched John Oliver's tratment of CharterSchools.  Would LOVE to see him deal with Government Schools in the same way.

There is so much repression these days coming in the form of playing on people’s fear of even the possibility of being considered racist/sexist/homophobic.

Just yesterday, retired Gen. Michael Hayden was on CNN telling us: “You’re not just responsible for what you say. You are responsible for what people hear.” That’s scary stuff, but you’re not supposed to hear it as scary because Trump is racist/ sexist/ homophobic/ xenophobic/ murderous/ insane and he needs to be stopped.

Or so I hear it.

And I expect General Hayden to take responsibility for what I hear.
