Now, as Biden said after the passage of Obamacare, this is a big (expletive deleted) deal.

A smoker drops his cigarette and it catches the rug on fire. He calls 911 and the fire department dithers about how it was his own stupid fault for dropping the cigarette and they tell him that his automatic sprinkler system in his house should've gone off and doused the flames. The fire then spreads to the whole house while the fire department does nothing. The man (and his neighbors) are insistent that the fire department come and put the flames out. The fire department tells the man "you have a water hose at your house, put it out yourself". The fire department lieutenant then goes on TV and talks about how in the future, the city should have better inspections of home fire sprinkler systems to prevent just such a tragedy. Meanwhile, the fire still rages on. Then the fire department finally shows up and the Captain of the department talks a big game about how his department has been engaged from the very minute the fire started.  Meanwhile, the house has already burnt down to cinders...
 
Yeah...not Obama's fault at all. What was I thinking??

Woman died after doctors failed to spot toilet brush in her buttocks

Cindy Corton, 35, was left with the bizarre injury after a drunken fall in a friend's bathroom in 2005.
She was twice seen by hospital staff in the aftermath of the incident and an X-ray was carried out.
But an inquest heard it took Mrs Corton, of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, two years to convince doctors that the handle was lodged in flesh of her bottom.
By then what should have been a routine procedure to remove it had become much more dangerous.
After two unsuccessful operations in 2007, Mrs Corton underwent further, much riskier surgery and died from massive blood loss at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre in June last year.
Recording a narrative verdict, coroner Stuart Fisher criticised Dr Killian Mbewe, who first examined Mrs Corton at Grantham hospital.
After the inquest, husband Peter Corton said: "Cindy got a very poor service from the NHS.
"I'm sure she would have got better treatment in foreign countries."

Former Paulson analyst Paolo Pellegrini discovered where the biggest bubbles had grown and which were in the process of blowing up. His bets against these bubbles, of course, turned out to be right.

Pellegrini figured all this out using information that was readily available to anybody who was sufficiently motivated. You would think somewhere in the United States government there might be such motivated people. After all, we have an SEC, a Federal Reserve Bank, a Treasury Department, the formerly government sponsored entities Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, the Census Bureau, many data collection and analysis agencies, and too many congressional committees. All of these entities have the stability of the economy as part of their job description. Yet all of them combined could not manage your money as intelligently as one short seller from Rome managed John Paulson’s.

The main reason the government isn’t hiring short sellers is because short sellers would never waste their time working for the government. Short sellers really are some of the smartest people in the investment world and they would never be able to handle living in an environment of mediocrity.”

Here we have a black Democrat running against a Hispanic Republican, Marco Rubio–and Charlie Crist, a guy who’s so Caucasian even his hair is white, is the hero of the liberal media and may even become the de facto Democrat in the race.
