Happy Independence Day To My American Readers

We were up early today to pack up our things and get ready for today's move. I ran downstairs to get some food at Java Coast consisting of coffee, pastry and fruit.

I checked out and got the room charges taken care of that were posted to the room that shouldn't have been there and then loaded up he car.

I went back in to play the free weekly video poker tournament I had earned a few days ago. The game was 10-6 double-double bonus. I hit a few regular quads and finished the 15 minute session with just over 2000 points. The girl logging the scores said she liked it and I laughed. One person hitting aces and a kicker would beat me. She said there were 35 places though and they'd be posted after midnight and if I won anything it would post to my card. I won't be going to check!

Today we are moving to Main Street Station. This was booked on an offer of 4 nights, $75 in free play and a food coupon book for meals. I had a host swap out the coupon book for a silver card. Checking in took a little longer than usual because there was actually 4 people ahead of me. This is about as rare as it gets! We reserved a handicap room and were assigned room 1724 which was ready.

These rooms are the same as the standard rooms here at Main Street Station with a king bed, nightstands, table with chairs, dresser, 32 inch flat screen TV, closet and a work desk. The bathroom is laid out similar to the regular rooms as well except it's all one room instead of being split into two.

We got our things up there and then it was off to lunch at the Market Street Cafe at the California. Dee got her favorite spaghetti and meat sauce and I got my favorite hot turkey. The portion was smaller than it has been in the past but the turkey has been upgraded from a basic deli turkey to a real turkey breast. The food was good and we were off to the casino here at Main Street Station.

This first session was the session from hell. Very few dealt winners and few quads. One new thing here is when you get a scratch card for getting a quad or better, you have to scratch it in front of the slot attendant. I'm guessing someone tried to commit some type of fraud with these things to bring on this change.

We came up to the room to take a break from the pounding we were taking and watched a little TV. I ended up getting in a short nap too.

We went back to he casino and hit the machines again. This session was better than earlier. Dee scored a set of dealt aces and then a few minutes later hit another set on the middle line. This saved us from disaster for the day. I hit my fair share of quads to keep alive. I used a few hail Mary moves switching to double-double and did hit a few quads doing so to get back in it. At the end of the session we were up a bit and eased some of the losses from earlier, although it's another losing day.

For a late night dinner we hit the Cafe over at the Cal. Dee got spam and eggs and I got the Wonton Min soup to wrap up another night.

On the way tot he room I stopped at the cage to cash in our scratch cards. The girl proceeded to separate the $2 & 3 cards, turned them all over, and signed each and every one of them. This wouldn't have been so bad but there were 30 of them (28 @ $2 & 2 @ $3). Then she laid them out on the counter to total them up. WTF? 10 minutes to cash these things? Certainly these can be signed later on when there isn't a line of people waiting can't they?

Total win/loss for the day -$300
Total Comps for the day $147
