Day 10

Happy Canada Day To My Canadian Readers

Today is moving day and we'll all be heading back up to Las Vegas. The first job was to pack up the last of our things and run our stuff up to the car.

I came back down to the casino and I hit the machines really quickly. I had my July/August offer that was good for $225 in free play so the goal was to simply run this through and cash out anything. I chose to play it on single line 50¢ jacks or better hoping to cash out around $200 and ended up with just $165. The best hand I had the whole time was trips and that only happened twice.

I went back up to the room to get Dee and called the cousins up and told them we'd meet them by the door to the parking garage. We actually ended up meeting in the elevator!

From here it was off to the car and time to drive back to Las Vegas. The cousins have never seen the Hoover Dam so I took the long way around so we could go over the bridge and make a quick stop at the dam.

The ride was different than the normal route we usually take and more scenic. On the way through Henderson we stopped off at the laundromat to drop off our laundry for fluff and fold service. The journey eventually took us to the Gold Coast where we'd be spending the next 3 nights. The cousins will be spending the next two before going home. We have two separate reservations here. One in my name and one in Dee's name. My reservation was booked through an offer of 2 nights, $50 in free play and $50 food per night. I also added a 3rd night through a host that introduced himself to us last year on one of our visits. Dee's offer was for 2 midweek room nights with no extras and the cousins will be using that room.

We checked in with no issues and me and Dee got room 201. This is a premium handicap room with a king bed, nightstands, dresser, work desk, and 32 inch flat screen TV. There is a view of the valet area. The bathroom is large and handicap equipped with a roll in shower and safety bars. The cousins got room 200 which is a king room similar to ours but without the handicap bathroom.

Once we were settled into the room we hit the casino to play some video poker. It wasn't a great session but Dee pulled a set of aces and a quad towards then end and we cashed out only down about $75. The cousins met us and we went to the buffet for dinner. I think this is one of the better buffets out there for the price ($10).

After dinner we hit the VP machines again. Once again we didn't have any major hits here but did manage to lose a few bills playing. Dee went into a quad drought and I went into a dealt winner drought.

To change things up a bit we went to play one of Dee's favorite slot machines. We did well on them for a while with Dee hitting multiple bonus rounds and I had a winning combination that paid 4000 coins. Too bad it was only pennies. In the end we cashed out with a combined win of $1.45.

I stopped by the slot club to activate tonight's free play and then we went back to playing the triple plays again. Not much happened here but we hit enough quads to keep playing and got a few dealt winners to keep the meter running. I had doubled up what I started with but then things dried up. I decided I was going to quit even. I was at $120 on the meter and decided to try my hail Mary play of going to double-double bonus. I was telling Dee that this hadn't worked yet today and rarely works and a few hands later was deal quad threes. I drew a kicker on the bottom line for a nice $400 hit. I cashed out and inserted a fresh bill. We played a little longer and decided to both cash out at $100.

I still had my free play so decided to run it through the new Family Guy penny slots. These were pretty entertaining and I hit a few bonus rounds hovering even for most of the free play but during the last $15 or so the machine went cold. I ended up cashing out for $31 and we called it a day.

Total win/loss for the day $300
Total Comps for the day $413
