Day 12
Wednesday July 3, 2013
Today the cousins will be leaving us so we were up early and helped them get ready for their trip back home to Canada. They have a 10:15am flight so I got them to the airport in plenty of time to get checked in and do everything they had to. We said our goodbyes and then I went to Henderson to pick up the laundry and to hit the dollar store.
I got back to the hotel around 10am and rested a bit then got cleaned up to start the day. We hit the triple plays again. To say I got pounded would be an understatement. I blew through 2 bills in no time at all. Dee also dropped a bill but leveled off after that. I switched to a half dollar single line machine to try and preserve some bankroll but that didn't work either. Other than 1 full house I got nothing better then a 3 of a kind and dropped another 2 bills. Between us we dropped 5 and played for less than an hour.
For lunch we went to the Noodle Exchange and got the Lemon Chicken lunch special. It was as good as always but I am seeing some differences in this each time I get it. I was also glad to see that egg drop soup was back instead of the nasty looking fish stuff we got last week.
We played more after lunch and Dee started off at a super times pay machine. She did well here hitting quite a few quads, but none with a multiplier. She actually scored a $100 win here before we moved on to regular single line games. She played half dollar jacks and I tried my luck with NSU deuces. I had to play slow to avoid making mistakes like holding a jack and a king and because I haven't played deuces much the last few years. Dee got up a bit and cashed out with a $150 win, but then put another bill in and lost it, still quitting with a $50 win. I dropped yet another bill but got some play out of it thanks to a few dirty royals.
I needed a break so we headed up to the room. On the way I saw one of the new Cheers penny slots and gave it a shot. I didn’t care for the game as the pay offs for hitting things seemed really small. I hit a bonus round and it seems like most of the pay offs in this game will come from the bonus round if you are lucky enough to score one.
Around 4pm it was off to Aliante to meet up with friends Kathy and Alicia. They were staying up there and didn't have a car so we drove up there to visit them. We'll actually be staying here next week. We met at 5pm and went to the buffet for dinner. I used the LVA MRB coupon for a 2 for 1 buffet (holy shit, did I just pay for food?). It worked out to $11.98 for 2 buffets with the coupon and player's card discount. We haven't been here since Stations lost control of the buffet and I was expecting it to be better however, I think it was a notch down from when they had it. Also, the odd thing was at the dessert section. There was no cake at all. They had tons of pies, micro cupcakes and cookies, but not a single slice of cake. WTF? We hung out here for over 3 hours catching up before we left and came back here to the old Coast.
Once we were back it was time for one last shot at video poker for the day. A small win tonight would really be nice. Dee started off with aces and hovered for the next 90 minutes. I was up and down and on my second bill was getting beat up again. I did my usual hail Mary and hit a standard quad and switched back. I played a little longer and busted out. Dee took another bill and lost that in no time. Pretty interesting stuff that the first bill can last 90 minutes and the second one lasted 9.
It wasn't that late but the video poker just wasn't working so we grabbed some junk food at the gift shop and came up here to watch TV and ingest large quantities of empty calories!
Total win/loss for the day -$850
Total Comps for the day $81
