Day 20
Monday July 17, 2006

Today is the last day of the trip. I don’t have much planned for today as far as gambling goes. I ran a few errands and then hit the Pinball Hall of Fame one last time. Just in case you’re in the area it’s at the corner of Pecos and Tropicana. Help support this place so it survives and I can keep going there too!

After Pinball I went over to the Monte Carlo for a meet that was set up on the Las Vegas Talk discussion board. The meet lasted until about 4:30 and I came back to Bally’s to pack up some stuff and to clean out all of the crap I accumulated in the rental car. It’s amazing how much trash and other assorted crap I had in this car.

For dinner I met Anne her son and a friend at Viva Mercados, a Mexican restaurant over on Flamingo. I’m not a big fan of Mexican food so I stick to the basic taco here. The food is decent and the portions are a good size.

After dinner we all parted ways and I made a quick stop at the Las Vegas Hilton. This was for 2 reasons. First was I had a $25 coupon to cash in and second was to place some sports bets for a guy at work. I was in and out of here in just a few minutes.

What I should have done at this point was came back here to the hotel and packed and gone to bed. Did I do that though? No, of course not. My next move was probably the biggest bonehead move I made the whole trip. I headed over to the Hard Rock and played craps. The table started out choppy and then got cold. I was holding my own though and wasn’t really up or down any more than $200 at any time. I got the dice and had a good roll making 5 points. I hit them quick though and didn’t hit much else during my roll other than the points. The table got choppy again and the few gains I made were gone. I didn’t really like the way things were going but then 2 good shooters back to back got me ahead again. I bumped up my bets during this roll and made a good chunk of money. I was going to cash out but it was my turn to shoot. I went out on my first roll after setting the point and colored up with an over $1400 win offsetting yesterday’s ass kicking. This was a nice way to finish up.

I got back over to Bally’s and packed up my stuff and was bummed out it was almost over. I finally got all my stuff jammed into the suitcases and it was going on 2am. I was hungry so walked over to the Barbary Coast for a late night breakfast special. I had the bacon and eggs deal that’s $3.45. This has gone up over the years and I remember when it was $1.95 but it’s still a good deal even at this price. I used points to cover the cost. On my way back to Bally’s I took a walk through Paris and saw Ned the dealer on the craps table. I bought in for $150 and played the $10 minimum with double odds just to play and talk with Ned. This table was cold and I was out as quick as I was in.

I finally got to bed at 3:30am. This wasn’t good since I had to get up around 7am to get ready to go home.

Total win/loss for the day $1200
Total comps for the day $168
