Day 3
Friday June 30, 2006

I was woken up this morning at 9am by the phone ringing. I didn’t answer it and when I responded to the voice mail it was a casino host welcoming me to Red Rock and offering an additional night. Now that’s VERY nice but 9am? I was NOT happy about this. Since I was awake I got up and started my day.

After getting ready I went up to Henderson to cash in $40 in free play and a $25 free bet. I hated to drive all of the way up there from here but this was the last day these coupons were good.

It’s about a 30-mile drive from Red Rock to Fiesta Henderson. I made it in a little over a ½ an hour. Since it was lunchtime I started off here with lunch at the Baja Beach Café and had the Feel Good Soup. It was good but it has gone downhill since I first discovered it back in 2000. The service was slow here today and the waitress apologized and didn’t charge me for my drink to make up for it. I thought that was pretty cool.

Next up was to activate my card for 5X points then to hit some triple play video poker to use my $40 in free play and to play a while. This machine was pretty good giving me a lot of play but not hitting any big dealt winners until I got dealt a full house and then quad 8’d back to back. From here it was streaky. I only hit one more quad for the whole session and finished the session with a big $1.25 win.

After video poker I hit the craps table. I had a $25 free bet that I used when I shot. I made my point and won the free bet. That one of the few bets I did win during the session though. The table was pretty cold and I dropped $500 here in a pretty short session.

I left Fiesta Henderson and went down to the Las Vegas Hilton. My only task here was to cash in a $25 cash coupon that they sent me that expired today. I was in and out of here in a few minutes. I originally had plans for the afternoon but they fell through so I went over to the Hard Rock from some craps action.

The table was choppy at first and then got very cold. I was down quite a bit but towards the end of my buy in a shooter had a decent, but not great roll. This turned things around and the table got a little better. I couldn’t shoot well at all today. I had one half way decent roll and got back to even. The next few shooters were pretty good and I was about to get ahead for the first time today. Next thing I realized it was 7pm and I was supposed to be back up at Red Rock to have dinner with my friends Anne and Steve. I finally cashed out ahead by over $1200 bringing me back ahead for the trip.

From the Hard Rock I raced back up to Red Rock for dinner. I met up with Anne and Steve at Salt Lick BBQ. Steve and Anne were about done eating by the time I got there. Anne wasn’t thrilled with the food. I ordered a variety platter that had sausage, brisket and ribs on it. I thought it was pretty good BBQ but I’ve had better. The total bill for 3 of us with a few cocktails was $60. I used Fiesta points and covered the bill.

After dinner we played some video poker. I played quarter 8/5 bonus. I was doing pretty good here hitting quite a few full houses, straights and flushes keeping my alive. I also hit quad 10’s and 3’s. Then suddenly we heard this loud music coming from the machines. Someone hit the Jumbo Jackpot so everyone playing at the time got $50 in free play. This was cool but I wasn’t happy that it wasn’t ME that hit the Jumbo Jackpot. I was up over $100 at this point and took a shot by bumping up to half-dollar VP. This didn’t work out and I lost the $100 I was up and cashed out even for the session. Anne and Steve left and I wandered around the casino for a while before sitting in at blackjack.

The game was pretty good tonight and I was never down more than $100 at any time. I was winning most of my doubles and splits and when I hit I had good totals. I eventually got ahead and pressed my bets a bit and got on a decent run. After over an hour of play I cashed out with a $400 win.

It was getting late and tomorrow is a moving day so I cashed in and went to the room to pack up the few things I unpacked so I could leave tomorrow morning.

Total win/loss for the day $1250
Total comps for the day $391
