Day 13
Today I got another late start and hit the casino playing the triple/five play machines here at Caesars Palace. It started out pretty good at first and I got over 4k in action one $100 bill. I eventually lost it and tried another $100. This $100 disappeared in a matter of minutes.
During the session Mike came over and we went to lunch over at the Gold Coast buffet. Mike had a coupon for 2 free buffets. I haven’t had the Gold Coast buffet in a long time but not because it’s not good but because I just haven’t played much over there. The buffet here is pretty good with different serving stations with seafood, Chinese, American, Italian and Mexican. Most of the foods I took were good with exception of a few that were dry but I expect that from a buffet these days.
When we left the Gold Coast we went downtown. The main purpose to go downtown was to clean out some comp account of cash back. I also found out that the Plaza and Vegas Club wiped out my points due to inactivity. I wasn’t happy about this and told the slot club people that because of this I won’t be back and to let their bosses know they lost a player because of greed. I went over to the 4 Queens and had $69 in cash back available. I cashed that out and ran. Few more stops for Mike and we were on our way to the Cannery.
Today is 5X points at the Cannery and that’s a good play. I played 8/5-bonus five play. Things just didn’t go well here. I hit few quads, wasn’t dealt much of anything and couldn’t pull any winners with what I was dealt. I only got about 5k coin in and dropped $300. I did manage to hit a quad on the bottom line and cashed in a 50-coin bonus coupon for a $12.50 payoff. On the way out the door I played a $10 match play coupon on the field on the craps table and won that for a $20 win. It didn’t ease the pain of getting killed on VP though.
When we got back to Caesars from the Cannery we hit the diamond lounge for a late “dinner”. We got there too late for the hot foods but I did get the last chicken finger. Other than that it was sandwich wraps, cheese & crackers, fruit and dessert again.
We stayed in the diamond lounge until they closed. Mike went back over to Paris and I stayed here at Caesars.
I took a break in the room and watched a little TV and then went back down to the casino for one more attempt at video poker. Even though I lost quite a bit today I took a shot at 50-cent triple play. At first I wasn’t getting many paying hands and even fewer dealt winners. Then things turned around when I was dealt a full house and hit a few quads. The killer part was hitting 3’s with a kicker 3 times in about 10 minutes and I was only playing jacks or better. I was up and down on the meter and after a little over an hour gave up and cashed out even. My high point was plus $100 so cashing out even after over an hour was a pretty good deal to me.
I was heading to bed as I walked past a craps table. People had quite a bit of money in front of them so I bought in against my better judgement. Things were pretty good here and other than my initial bets I was never into my original buy in. One highlight was a guy on the opposite end of the game betting $1000 & $5000 chips on the pass line and taking full odds. I thought it was strange though that when it was my turn to shoot he started betting the dark side. I wonder what this guy had against me. Well eff you buddy, I’m taking it personally. I proceeded to hit two 11’s, a 12 and a 7 on my come out roll taking him for 5, 3, & 1 thousand. I finally established a point of 10. He had $1000 on the don’t pass line and lay $6000 odds. Unfortunately I went out and he won 4 grand on that roll. The next shooter was this girl that was about to quit because she had to pee. The dealers convinced her to shoot and she proceed to shoot for 35 minutes and took the dark side guy for about $50,000. She did no wrong and made everyone a boatload of money. I only wish I had bumped up my bets sooner but after getting my ass kicked all day I took things slow. I finished the session with about a $400 win easing the VP losses from earlier today.
It’s now 4am and it’s time to quit for the night.
