Day 16
One more time today I hit the VP machines here at Caesars Palace. I’ve been getting killed here for the most part but I have been getting good play. I think in part to playing 9/6 jacks or better. Like the past few days I played five play jacks. Things were starting out rough here and I wasn’t getting the dealt winners I needed to stay alive. I was getting some play but not getting ahead. I was dealt 4 to a royal and on the draw hit nothing. Not a straight, a flush, & not even a pair of jacks. I was down $200 and put in a 3rd bill that would be me last if it didn’t last. A few hands in I’m dealt a pair of 5’s, with 4 to a flush and 3 to a royal. I held the 3 royal cards and hit one on line 4 for $1000. From here the machine got hot and I was getting quads and dealt winners to keep me going. Eventually the machine cooled off and I cashed out with a $700 win.
This month Caesars is giving away a radio cooler for earning 200 base points so I stopped by the slot club booth to pick up mine and then headed out to the Hard Rock. I’ve been doing good there this trip so thought I’d take another shot over there at the craps tables. This turned out to be a bad idea. The dice just weren’t running well and just as I thought they were going to turn good they’d get bad again. I was about to cash out but it was my turn to shoot and I cut my own throat even deeper than everyone else cut it. I dropped $1700 here in just 2 hours. This was not a good thing. Bye-bye royal money.
After my ass kicking at the Hard Rock I went over to Silverton to meet up with Anne and Steve for dinner. Anne’s mother was there too and we ran into her neighbors so they joined us to. Anne frequents the Silverton and had a mail offer of $150 in dining credits so we went to Twin Creeks, the steakhouse at the Silverton. The food here is really good and the prices aren’t too bad. One plus is it’s an all-inclusive menu and not ala carte like most of the strip steakhouses. I went with the 10oz filet mignon and that comes with salad, and 2 sides. I chose the baked potato and creamed spinach. For dessert I got the chocolate cake and it was enough to feed 3 people. It was very rich and I took most of it with me. All in total for 6 people, with drinks, entrees, and desserts the total bill was $190.
Everyone left after dinner except for me. Me like a dummy had to gamble more. I hit the craps table. They have 10X odds here and a $3 game. I bet $5 on the line and was taking full odds. The table was choppy and I was up and down the entire session. I was about even but it was my turn to shoot and once again I cut my throat and went out after loading the board up with come bets. I finished this session down $400.
On my way out the door for some reason I parked my ass at a $1 DDB machine. I hit a flush right off the bat followed by a full house. Then the machine got cold and I wasn’t hitting anything. I think at one point I went about 10 hands with no hits at all. I went in for a second $100 and 7 hands in I was dealt 3 aces. On the draw I got a king and a 4th ace for $800. I cashed out with a $665 win here covering the craps losses from a few minutes earlier. At this point I got while the getting was good and headed back to Caesars Palace.
When I got back here I packed up some of my stuff since tomorrow is my final moving day. It’s really been nice being able to stay in one place for 5 nights at a time. After packing up I hit the jacuzzi one last time, just because I could!
