Day 11

I started off my day a little late today not leaving the room until after 1pm. I just needed a day to rest! My first move was to the Pyramid Café for a late breakfast/lunch.

Today is Yahtzee’s Crapsfest. This has been an annual event for the last few years. It’s pretty much a meet but around a craps table! As in the past, this year it’s being held at Fiesta Henderson so after lunch I headed out to Henderson. Since they changed things here there was only 1 table and it was pretty full when we got there. About 10 people in all showed up for the event and we eventually got on the game. It was a typical Crapsfest and the dice were cold. We did get to play for nearly3 hours. I finish down $150 but Mike scored a win of $36 to be the big winner for the day and about the only person in the 4-year history of Crapsfest to end up a winner. One thing to note was the amount of dealer mistakes being made here today. The dealers here aren’t good like they used to be and all almost all break in dealers. If you play here watch your payoffs closely. During the session this guy elbowed into the game. Then proceeded to elbow me, and bump me for the next hour. Now if that wasn’t bad enough he was a dark side player. Now even worse, he had B.O. His name was Lynn and he was a hefty guy so if he’s reading this maybe he’ll wash next time he goes to play craps.

After the craps session it was time for the group to head to dinner at The Baja Beach Cafe. I had the pork chop special. It was a lot of food with 2 large pork chops, potatoes, green beans and a dinner roll all for $8. The total bill came to $100 for 9 of us and it was comped by our host. After dinner Crapsfest was officially over.

I stayed and played video poker with Mike. We were on the triple play machines again and I was getting 3X points. I was getting killed here dropping $100 after $100. I sure didn’t have the luck today that I had yesterday! Mike on the other hand hit a royal on the top line! I was playing bonus poker and hit only 2 quads so switched to DDB hoping for some quads. I did hit aces for $200 but it was too late since I was already down more than that. The streakiness was too much for me so I switched to deuces. I played for a while here but just couldn’t get ahead and stay ahead. It seems like the deuces kept going on vacation. I finished this session down $400. One cool thing was when someone hit the daily jumbo jackpot and we both got $25 in free play. Not that this helped my session at all!

After getting killed at VP we played some penny slots. I got quite a bit of play and only lost $10 after playing those for over an hour. I’ve been getting good bang for my buck on these games so far this trip and they are fun.

I went back to the Luxor after playing penny slots with Mike and hit the Pyramid Café for a late night snack and dessert. I had a huge bowl of chicken noodle soup. It’s a rip off at $5 but comped it’s ok. I finished the night off with an ice cream sundae.
