Day 10
Today I started off with some craps action here at the Luxor. Mike joined in and the table was choppy to start, then cold. I had a few chips left and a lady shooter had a decent roll that got me back into the game after being just about all in. The next few shooters went out right away killing me. I had a decent roll and a good shooter followed that on the other end of the table. This shooter brought me lots of numbers and I pressed up at just the right time. I colored up after this with just under $400 in profits.
After craps me and Mike went to lunch at the Pyramid Café. I went with the chicken ramen soup. It’s similar to the Feel Good Soup at Fiesta Henderson but with no wontons, and more vegetables. Mike went with a club sandwich.
We both left the Luxor and I went over to Anne’s house to do more computer repair. Damn, that thing is a mess! After I finished up I went up to Fiesta Henderson to catch back up with Mike and play some video poker. Today is a 5X day at Fiesta so I activated my card and hit the Triple Play progressives. I had $40 of free play to start of with from a mail offer. It would turn out that I wouldn’t need to use any of my own money and the free play would carry me for the whole session. I quickly it a bunch of full houses and dealt flushes getting me $50 right away. I then got dealt a straight flush for 750 coins and then hit a series of bonus quads close together. Things were steady and then on a 2 card hold I hot a royal on the top line for $1168.25 for my first royal in almost a year and in 80,000 hands. I cashed out this VP session with a profit of $1253. I thought it was really cool hitting a royal on free play!
After VP we both went to play craps. The table started off ok with Mike having a good roll but then it went to hell. Other than a few hits here and there everyone was going out after just a roll or two. Dropped $175 here and Mike got a comp for dinner at the coffee shop.
There was a short wait to get into the coffee shop but we were seated quickly. I went with the lemon chicken from the Chinese menu. This was one of the better Chinese dishes I’ve had out here in Vegas.
I left Fiesta Henderson after dinner and came back here to the Luxor. My first piece of business was to activate my $250 in free play. My main goal here was to just run it through the machine and cash out anything left. I found a $1 multi games machine in the high limit room that had 8/5-bonus on it. I hit a few full houses and straights right away and go the meter over $350 but I hadn’t played enough hands to cash out yet. Things cooled off and I quit with $300 for another $300 win on the day.
Things were so good today as far as gambling went I should have packed it in and took the profits and ran. Of course I didn’t do that. I moved up to a craps table and bought in. This table was good from start to finish with everyone making numbers except for 2 shooters and they went out on their first roll so it wasn’t a real killer. I was making $15 bets with full odds and in under an hour I was up over $2500. This was definitely one of the best tables I’ve ever been at. Being up so much I took a shot at betting greens on the line with full odds for a few shooters. I was up and down after doing this and just couldn’t catch a great shooter with the higher bets. I finally cashed out the session with a win of over $2100 in just over an hour.
After craps I hit the Pyramid Café for a late night snack. The dessert menu looked good and I tried the brownie ala mode. It’s a big brownie, and vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate sauce and whipped cream. It was really rich but the brownie had too many walnuts in it for me. It did the trick and it was time to finally quit for the day.
