Day 15
Today started with Mike coming over to Caesars to pick me and for lunch. He had a coupon for $25 dining at the El Cortez downtown. We went to Careful Kitty’s Café. I had the hot open turkey sandwich and that came with mashed potatoes and gravy. I’ve never been a huge fan of the El Co but I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the food here and the prices.
After lunch we went to the Barbary Coast for a meet Mike had set up and to see Big Elvis. Pete Valle plays Big Elvis and he can sing but this guy is effing huge. There was a decent turn out and I left after Big Elvis’ first show.
From the Barbary Coast I did the Harrah’s promotion and got stamps at 3 properties. I already had a card with 3 stamps on it so got another prize at Caesars Palace. It was a gray embroidered sweatshirt.
After getting my prize I hit the casino for some video poker. Like always I hit the quarter five play machines. I had absolutely no luck at all on these machines today. Dealt winners were far and few and I only hit a few quads. I finished this session by dropping $500.
Next try was craps and things were just as bad at this table as they were at the VP machines. Nothing but seven out, and if it wasn’t that it was number, number, out. One shooter got me pretty close to being even but the end result was dropping the $1000 I bought in for. It hasn’t been a good day gambling so far.
It was a good time to take a break in the Diamond Lounge here at Caesars. They had the same foods again and tonight’s hot foods were chicken wings and spring rolls. I really wish they would put more of a rotation of items out each day.
After “dinner” in the lounge I took a short break and headed over to the Hard Rock again. This table was choppy and then cold and I was thinking I was in for a disastrous day. Things turned around and I was hovering around even for a while. The table emptied out and there was just one other player at the game. I had a 15-minute roll with just the 2 of us at the game and got ahead by a few hundred. The table started filling up but got a little cold again. All the gains were gone and I was in the hole again. The next time I got the dice I rolled for another 15 minutes. This roll was worth about 2 grand to me. I did press up my bets a little too late though but the way the table had been I was a little scared to bump up and drop the nice gains. I stayed for another rotation until I got the dice again. As soon as I got the board loaded up I went out and then colored up. I walked away with a profit of over $1100 balancing out the losses at Caesars earlier today.
I to back to the room at about 2am and another day was over.
