Day 17
Friday July 14, 2006

Once again it’s moving day. This is the last move for the trip. The next move is back home. It’s hard to believe I’ve been in town 2 weeks already. Today’s move is just across the street to Bally’s. Another hotel stay booked on the Harrah*s website and 4 comped nights. Bally’s is actually one of my favorite hotels but I haven’t stayed or played here in over 4 years.

When I left Caesars the valet area was a zoo but my diamond card got my car in less than 5 minutes while everyone else waited. I was over at Bally’s about 5 minutes later checking in at the diamond room at Bally’s.

I was assigned room 1856 in the north tower. This is a basic room and it’s a tough transition coming from the nice Augustus room at Caesars Palace. It has 2 queen beds with a nightstand, a very small sitting area with 1 large armchair and small table. There is a work desk near the windows, dresser/TV cabinet and a make up table. The bathroom is very small especially in comparison to the bathroom I just came from. I have a view of the lovely Ellis Island Resort and in the distance the Hard Rock. I got everything settled in and took a short break before heading out.

Today I went over to the Hard rock again to play some more craps. Yesterday’s ass kicking wasn’t enough for me. I bought in and other than my initial bets I was never into my original buy-in. I had a few decent rolls and everyone was hitting numbers. Quickly I was up over $1500 and bumped my bets. This didn’t work out and I don’t think I got paid 4 times after doing this. The dice got cold and I got out of there was a $1050 win. While I was in line at the cashier Heather Locklear and David Spade came out of the coffee shop. I didn’t get a good look at her though other than the back of her head. A guy in line said she was being a bitch to people.

For lunch I made a quick stop at Jack in the Box for some tacos but they ran out. I had a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger instead. Ho dare they run out of tacos!

After lunch it was back over to Bally’s to hit the room and rest for a while before going to the casino and hitting the 8/5-bonus triple & five play machines. These machines I was on are fast and fun to play. I was doing good from the beginning. There weren’t a lot of dealt winners but I was pulling hands and got the meter up. Then the quads started coming. I was up over $100 and thought I’d take a shot at DDB. This worked out well because I got dealt 3 aces and hit aces with a kicker on line 2 for $500. I kept playing and hit a few other quads and got dealt a full house 3 times. Then I got dealt 3 aces again. I did hit them on line 4 without a kicker. The machine cooled off after this and I cashed out with the $500 from the aces with a kicker and my original $100.

It was about dinnertime so I hit the diamond lounge here at Bally’s. I’ve never been to this lounge before but my guess is they’ll have those same old sandwich wraps that they all have! I was right. Sandwich wraps, cheese & crackers, some pasta salads and fruit. There were 2 hot items. One item was chicken wings and the other was some puff pastry with a chunk of crap in it. It appeared to be meat of some sort but it smelled nasty so I didn’t eat it. There was also a nice selection of desserts.

After “dinner” I hit the five plays again. This session I wasn’t hitting much of anything at all. I got to play for about an hour and ran 4k through the machine but a lack of dealt winners and quads killed me and I dropped $300.

While I was playing I got a call from Rich and he’s back in town so I went over to the Palms to meet him. We hung out at the bar and played VP and drank for most of the night. I started with $100 bill and it lasted for about 5 hours. I was doing well hitting a lot of quads early on but then things cooled off and I ended up losing. We hung out a little longer and next thing I knew it was after 5am. Time to get a cab and head back up to Bally’s for bed.

Total win/loss for the day $1100
Total comps for the day $259
