Day 7
I got a late start today but the plan is to play at the South Coast for double points. My first task was to go to the sports book and grab some 75-cent hot dogs for lunch from the cart. Just my luck as soon as I get to the cart the girl tells me she’s out but there are more on their way. After a short wait the dogs arrived and lunch was served.
After lunch I hit the 3/5 play machines. I thought I would try my luck with five plays and about 5 hands in I was dealt 4 aces for a $500 hit. Shortly after I hit the aces Rich and Dawn arrived. I played down my initial $100 and then cashed out that ticket for a $400 win. I switched over to triple play. I hit aces one more time with various other quads. I played close to 3 hours more and cashed out this session even for a total win of $400 and I racked up over 6000 points which were doubled to over 12,000 for an additional $30 in cash back or comps. You just have to love when a plan works out and you play a promotion, win, and cash in on the promo too!
We all left the South Coast and made plans for dinner at Antonio’s at the Rio. We all still have some food credit vouchers to burn from the Harrah’s promotion. Antonio’s is the kind of Italian restaurant that has a bunch of stuff on the menu you can’t pronounce and is pretty overpriced. I had chicken parmesan with penne and it ran $27. As far as I’m concerned the words chicken and twenty-seven should NEVER be used in the same sentence. The food was very good and our waiter was attentive. After dinner Rich and Dawn headed out because they had to go back home tomorrow. I went over to the Palms.
When I got to the Palms I hit the deuces wild progressives by the front door. I haven’t played much deuces wild recently because he game isn’t as available as it used to be and where it is available the comp rate is very weak. Thing started off good here with a bunch of higher hands like straight flushes and wild royals. I was dealt 3 deuces and hit the 4th on the draw too for 1000 coins. After over an hour I cashed out with a $150 win.
After deuces I wanted to play a little blackjack but all they have here now are shoe games and stupid 6-5 single deck games. Instead I played a variety of penny slots for entertainment value. I machine hopped for over an hour and only lost $5 the whole time. I thought that was pretty good bang for my buck.
I left the Palms a little after midnight and on the way back to Paris Flamingo Road was closed so I had to take a long detour around to get back to Paris. Not sure what the issue was but I think there was an accident at the intersection of the strip and Flamingo Rd. I’ll know more tomorrow. I ended the day at about 2am and a pretty big win for the day!
