We are finally back at the hotel after a very long, hot day of touring. Steve and I got to sleep at about midnight the evening of July 4th and I was awake at 6:30am.

We had a nice breakfast and then headed out with our guide for our tour. We were able to tour Tian'anmen Square...

... Temple of Heaven,

... as well as the Forbidden City.

We then got to see a live Kung Fu performance. We were not allowed to take any photos at that performance.

What can we say about Beijing so far? The locals are helpful to you if you ask a question, and there is a KFC, McDonald's, and Subway. Food is CHEAP!!! We paid less than 5 dollars US for our dinner at McDonald's tonight!!! Steve bought a beer that cost about 72cents US!! Our guide is Ann and she is WONDERFUL. She is so nice and goes out of her way to help us any way she can.

It was quite warm, in the 90's, with very high humidity. Steve and I are drinking a lot of water. In case anyone notices the date on the pictures is July 4th, that is because that is the date at home in Anchorage. I am not about to change the settings on the camera. To hard to fix it!
