The market was HUGE. It has over 6 stories of shops all selling jewelry.

Lindsey had fun and then promptly fell asleep...

She would not take her bottle this morning so ended up wanting one on the bus. Making a bottle on a moving bus in China is so much fun!!! She made up for her lack of breakfast throughout the day. We got to meet one of my Yahoo Internet friends, Barbara. She was here with her husband and two of her 4 adopted kids for a visit. We ate at the Chinese restaurant and they bought our lunch as an anniversary present. Today, Steve and I have been married 12 years. It was nice to meet her in person and to be able to talk to her two kids - both from China. They are well-adjusted and very nice.

The White Swan is located on Shamian Island. It is considered the best hotel in China and many world leaders and US presidents have stayed here. Our guide talked a lot about Bill Clinton and how wonderful he is. We just listened. I did not want to talk politics. It was interesting to listen to the Chinese views of our current president and past presidents.

Once Steve and I got back to our room Lindsey would not take her nap, so we decided to take a walk around the island. There are little shops everywhere and they all have the same things. It is fun to bargain with them on certain things. We have gotten to know some of the shopkeepers. While we were out it began to thunder and then rain. We caught the beginning of the 20 minute storm so we did not get that wet.

We ate at the Thai restaurant located on the island. Lindsey did not have fun there - she almost pulled a picture off the wall! I ended up walking her back and forth in the stroller outside, while Steve finished eating. We have not gone swimming yet... we hope to do that tonight. Lindsey went to bed by 9:30pm tonight after taking almost 12 oz of her bottle. She was HUNGRY.
