It is hard to believe we only have 2 more full days in China!!! We did the medical exam today and then went over all of the adoption paperwork. Our guide is taking all of the paperwork to the US Consulate tomorrow and then we all go on Wednesday to take our oath.

Our guide had us leave early for the medical exam. We were the first families to arrive which was very nice as 25 families came in after us! Lindsey did well. She did not enjoy the ear, nose and throat exam.

Medical exam... the crying was short

It was not what I would consider an exam. They did not even get the otoscope in far enough to view her ear canal. She was 10.2 kg or 22.44 lbs, and 80 cm or 31.5 inches. I am not sure how accurate those stats are. We get comments on how big she is daily.

After finishing the paperwork we went out to a gorgeous temple, then to a huge store called Carrefour. After that we were off to the Jade Factory. Lindsey was happy the entire time and she even took a bottle on the bus.

Lindsey and her friend, Sam

The temple was very interesting. I was able to take some photos of the buildings, and the handmade artwork on the roof was just beautiful!! It was hot but really interesting to hear about some of China's history. Our guide is very knowledgeable. Many of the locals have commented on Lindsey and how beautiful she is. That is really neat. We have only had one local comment on her cleft. Most are all smiles when our guide tells them she is going to the United States and will have her lip and palate repaired.

The department store was huge, insanely crowded, and very loud. We stuck with our guide while we were there and just picked up a few things. I am still not used to getting pushed and shoved. It is hard to get used to. I don't think anyone does it on purpose here. It is just so crowded that in a way you have to be very "assertive" in order to get where you want to go. The stores here that are two stories have escalators that you can put your cart on. They are really cool.

The Jade Factory was nice. They had tea there as well and Steve was able to make some purchases. I was able to finally get myself a little something. It is nice to shop at the big stores as they have air conditioning.

After arriving back at the White Swan we ate at an outdoor barbecue and then took Lindsey swimming. She LOVED it!

My first swim

I had to work very hard to keep her head out of the water. She loves to lay on her back and tries very hard to put her face and head in. She also loves to splash. It was dark so we did not get many photos but will go again tomorrow.

In the playroom

Lindsey is now fast asleep. We should go swimming every night!
