Tomorrow marks our last full day in China. I made a call to Northwest Airlines today to confirm we still had seats home. All looks well. Japan has had some natural disasters this past week. First a typhoon, and then a large earthquake. We were told the airport in Tokyo was having issues a few days ago. All is well as of now.
Our day today was free. Our guide, Claire, went to the United States Consulate to check our paperwork and we had to wait in our room for her to call with the all clear.
take it off" with Daddy ![]() We had no problems with our paperwork. We take our oath at the consulate tomorrow. That is the last step in the adoption. I have been coughing lately. I started my antibiotics yesterday. The other family we are with took taxis to the zoo today but we stayed behind. It is so hot and we saw pandas in Fuzhou last week. Lindsey naps in the afternoon so outings are sometimes hard. She has been very happy and eating better today. I have to say that Lindsey is very, very active. She will fit in well with Jesse! She loves to hit things and when you hold her she will pat you on the back. Steve is his usual self and plays rough and Lindsey LOVES it. They are buds that is for sure! We were able to get Lindsey in at Portland Shriners on August 10th for her evaluation with the plastic surgeon. A big thanks to Grandma for making all the phone calls for the many doctor visits Lindsey will have over the next couple weeks!!!!
We went shopping today, AGAIN
![]() I tried very hard to keep her from getting her ears and head wet but it's hard because she loves to splash.
(This is big for Lindsey) ![]() ![]() Lindsey is continuing to charm all of the local shopkeepers. They all try to sell stuff to "her." It is really funny. There are many shops around the hotel and they all sell the same things. It is fun to bargain with them.
![]() We have the famous "Red Couch" picture tomorrow and then off to the consulate for our oath. Tomorrow will be our last post from China as we leave for the airport on July 19th at a lovely 4:30am. We are excited to come home but I am not looking forward to the long plane rides and then the 7 hour layover in Portland!! We arrive in Anchorage on July 19th at 7:45pm. Our flight is Alaska Airlines #155.
