Shall we dance?
Mood:  happy
Topic: The Zelda Diaries
Monday 6:14pm 16Oct06

Zelda's new thing is to put her back up and run sideways toward either Picasso or Quincy. As she gets close to them and they don't move she runs back away from them in the same sideways way. She's too funny! They just sit and watch as if waiting for her to box one of them but she knows better. Her other move is to run toward them and get up on her back legs with her front legs above her head like a bear. She can't keep it going though like a person trying to play a joke but can't keep a straight face.

Picasso has started to play with her a little bit. They've been chasing each other back and forth then Picasso bangs her front feet like she's going to chase Zelda and watched her run away.

It will be a fine day of pandemonium once they both start playing with Zelda. Can we count how many objects will land on the floor because of it?

Can this be better?
Now Playing: Beautiful - Christina Aguilera

Miss Zelda came to join me in the bed in the middle of the night. She gave me a sweet smile when I woke up 20 minutes into the alarm going off. She waited for me to come to and then pounced. Jumped my hands, jumped my feet, had me screaming with laughter. Brought the two big cats over to investigate what was going on. They sat back and watched with awe.

She brought the stretch cat out of retirement. When I still had Saki my black cat, Saki and Quincy used to lie on the floor while I was doing my morning stretches and when I'd come back down to the floor they'd be underneath me like cushions. I'd say, "Whose da stretch cats?"

Whenever I lifted my leg to do my leg stretches Zelda would bite my bum through my shorts. It took me a half hour to do my stretches between Zelda's attacks and Quincy's cushioning. Much laughter was enjoyed.

She really reminds me of the days when I still had Saki and our ritual play sessions. Although Zelda is eating in the kitchen now I still keep her food separate from the big cats as they get insulted when she stands beside them to eat. She eats like a pig, she's so famished from all her crazy antics and she cries when she's eating. Of course I moan when I'm enjoying my food so that may well be what she's doing. The big cats are less finicky about their food for fear that the little bear will eat it.

When she's finished eating she comes over to me to rub against me as if she's thanking the cook. One must always thank the cook!

Currently it's cat nap time. Picasso (Skinny bear) is up on the dresser facing the wall (like she's being punished) snoozing. Quincy (Cue bear) is up on the window sill stretched out with her front big fat feet under her chin. And Zelda (Delda bear) is on the top of the chair bum hanging off the edge. And bean bear, that's me, we're a family of bears, I prepare for work to go make more cat food.

wheeeeeeeeee!

The weapon
Topic: The Zelda Diaries
2:12pm Saturday 7Oct06

Zelda has become quite independent. She comes to bed with me and lulls me into the false belief that she's going to stay cuz' I'm such a great mommy surrogate. Then I wake up and she has found a new place to sleep, up on top of my half book case. I've since put a towel up there for her to sleep on. Heck, if Quincy and Picasso have baskets the least I can do is slip a towel up there for the Zelda roonie.

She still runs to her bin in the bathroom when she gets scared of something such as the weapon.

Of course I can no longer wear shorts in the apartment because she attacks my socks while their on my feet. And she has attempted too many times to count to climb my legs. She's got some seriously sharp nails. She loves to attack my pants too while their on my person. I've been telling her no and waving my finger. She bites my finger with kitty laughter. What to do to curb her from this habit that will only get worse as she gains some pounds? I don't believe in hitting.

Ah yes, I have a squirter bottle. I filled my lovely purple squirter bottle with water and the next time she attempted the CN Tower Shelley climb I gave her a good squirt in the face. She went running for the hills of the bathroom and took a time out. Let the training begin...

She's awfully interested in starting a friend ship with Picasso and Quincy. Picasso was too upset to stay during feeding time when the Zelda partook of the third plate. Quincy kept eating and gave a couple of menacing looks.

My neighbour across the hall bought Zelda the brat a piece of carpet to scratch. Since Zelda was scratching the carpet in her apartment when we went for a visit. Nye, if you're reading this, I can't remember what apartment you're in...

Picasso and Quincy have taken to the little piece of carpet as a place to sit and rest the weary bones. Zelda has attacked it a time or two.
She tried to jump me last night while I ate my last two slices of leftover pizza. I'm not used to having a cat that's interested in human food. With P and Q (hmm watch your P's and Q's) I could leave a plate of my food on the floor and they'd never take a bite. Zelda is trying to climb up my arm whilst I eat.

She has now investigated the whole of this spacious, to her, apartment. What a fun playground this is compared to the bathroom, she thinks. What a fun playground indeed.

What fun life is with a little kitty!

Where ya been all day?
Topic: The Zelda Diaries
Thursday 6:50pm 5Oct06

Last night both Picasso and Quincy decided that Zelda was kinda cute...when she was sleeping. They both stopped to study her in the chair and she snoozed face down. Of course when she woke up at one point, Quincy was standing there spitting at her. Pathetic.

All three cats were waiting for me in my bed which was a big surprise. The two big uns just stared at miss Zelda waiting for the opportunity to spit but they didn't take off.

This morning Zelda woke me up just before 4am with her sandpaper licking on my arm. She was cleaning me all nice and sweetly and then decided that I was a chew toy and proceeded to chomp on my arm and kick me with her back legs.

She thinks that she is one of the flying wallendas and has been jumping up and flying off furniture and dangling. She is going to be a hand full for such a little body! I look forward to every minute of it.

This afternoon when I got home she was screaming for me at the bathroom door. Very excited to see me. She's been following me around and mewing whenever I disappear from her vision. Today she really wants to be touched and be on my lap when she's not taking her power naps.

I bought one of those cameras in a box so once I take all the pictures and develop them, I'll scan them into my computer and post some...

Who to win over
Topic: The Zelda Diaries
5:51pm Wednesday 4Oct06

I couldn't get home quick enough to see my new little sweet girl. She was quietly napping in her little makeshift cat bed that I left for her in the bathroom. She'd also brought one of her toys to bed - a green mouse.

She blinked her eyes happily when I came in. She'd eaten all her canned cat food and a fair amount of the crunchy food.

Quincy is still far too bitter to move from her spot under one of my desks but more visible than she was last night and this morning. Picasso keeps pacing around Zelda with growling and hissing dismay. I think Zelda has decided that the one to win over is Picasso since whenever Picasso leaves the room Zelda goes running behind her to see what she's up to.

At one point I cracked up when Picasso and Quincy hissed at each other. ahem, you two already know each other! I'm just saying.

It's out of control how forward I'm looking to the long weekend. I might just maul the kitten to death. I can't walk past her without picking her up.
