building the house

It's been so long since I wrote here that everyone is telling me blogger is so out dated and I need to be "my spacing" instead. I couldn't even remember by password to get into this site at first.

Well, work is mundane and too tiring and frustrating to talk about. Basically, it's the same old stuff. I tend to complain about it a lot.

The exciting thing going on now is that we're getting closer (but yet are still so far away) from building a home. We've been in the process for a little over a year now. It took us about a year to work on the plans with the architect, settle on a builder (we're on our second), get finalized on the lot, and get a construction loan. So far, since May 06, the foundation was poured and they have put up the framing and the roof.

We basically visit the house every week and meet with the designer on everything from faucets, cabinets, light fixtures, etc. Everything is extremely expensive and we have to be careful not to exceed our allowances.

After seeing the Parade of Homes today, we've decided to change the color of our exterior stucco. Fortunately, we still have time, as our masonry hasn't even gone up yet.

Well, the little boy (who is almost 2 now!) just woke up from his nap and wants milk. we'll see if I ever have time to write again.
