Uh, about how long will it take to be able to lucid dream? I've been at it for about a week so far, but no results, except I've been able to remember my dreams better.

Just used fetish to avoid saying possibly offensive words.... Bad past mod experiance. Anyways.... I'd try to look back on those dreams and see if you can regogonize any consistancies then remember that when you see it you are dreaming.

So, lucid dreaming is just realizing that you are dreaming. I realize that I am dreaming all the time, but I just wake up immediately.

That happens to me, too. Whenever I find myself in a dangerous or highly negative situation in a dream I realize it for what it is, snap my fingers, and wake up or change scenes. Funny thing is, I could do that until I hit puberty, and then I lost the ability. Now it's back. It's pretty useful, but it's not like I remain lucid for very long if I only change scenes.

I had a lucid dream once, I think. I like... woke up inside a dream. I was dreaming about something in my house, and I remember thinking: "Wait... my bedrooms on the second floor, WTF is wrong?" Then I realized I was dreaming, I was all "cool, I'm awake in a dream!" But I didn't have control over anything. I woke up a few minutes later.

"5, Things not to do. I highly suggest that you do not engage in any kind of sexual or sensual intercourse while dreaming. Not at first at least. This tends to end the dream real real quick especially for a novice at the art of lucid dreaming. Also do not stand around if you can't think of something to do spin or fly some more."

Funny you should mention that. I found that was the best means of improving the lucid ability... most enjoyable too ;)

I feel like a girl when I am lucid dreaming with sexual occurances. You can have orgasms over and over, and they are so powerful too(for some it may be much stronger than any you have had in waking), yet you never lose your drive! Oddly enough when you get up in the morning, your prostate may feel rather sore... hmm...

Quick question I think In my dreams they are in third person and not first person are they supposed to be in first person or third person

And

If you die in a lucid dream do you die in real life?

"Quick question I think In my dreams they are in third person and not first person are they supposed to be in first person or third person"

It is really irrelevant which perspective you take. When you gain more skill in lucid dreaming, you should be able to swap to whatever view you may wish.

"If you die in a lucid dream do you die in real life?"

Clearly NO. Regardless of being lucid, it is still a dream. I'll bring the orgasm analogy back into here, as it is related. (Presuming you are male)When you have an orgasm in a lucid dream you will feel the sensation of ejaculation. However in the real world nothing has occured; it is only existent within the dreamstate. This is why lucid dreamers can have multiple orgasms within a single dream experience.

I read this topic last night and now I became very enterested in lucid dreaming. I went to some websites and it said that the only way you can learn to dream lucidly very well is to keep a dream journal. I started it last night. I havent remembered a dream in like five months, but last night, with the help of using my dream journal, I can remember at least six dreams.

I believe I said you should not engage in any sexual/sensual experiance during dreams... EG. Intercourse with someone of the opposite or same (Don't know you) gender. Or sensual: Engaging in self bondage or something of that type... once again I don't know you.... I never had a problem not doing those things but one of you might and i'm telling oyu its a fast way to get out of that dream quicker than a....... Fly flying away from you when trying to kill it. (ha thought I was going to be cliche didn't you?)

Last Night, I had a pretty strange Dream. I'll briefly describe it. I was in My last period Spanish class. I could tell I was in the same Room as real life, But I was in a different seat, and the only otherkid I remember isn't even in that class with me. It's the end of class and I leave, I remember now it wasn't my school, But parts of it look like it was from another school I was in in another dream I had a while Back. Well, I notice I forgot my Backpack back in my class on the other side of school, and I wouldn't make it there and bak in time for the bus and I got Frustrated and wished it wasn't real. At this point I'm not exactly sure of the order of events. I realized It was a Dream right after I woke up, Or I realized it in the dream and Woke up before that. It kind of went as a smooth transition from dream to real. It faded all to black And I regained consioussness.

Is this a good sign for Lucid dreams to be coming soon? I've been Doing state checks, watching the subliminals and reading up on Lucid dreams.

You were on that edge... next tiemn you feel like that jump out and try to jump/float to something decently far away... if you feel as if its slow you will jolt into lucidness..... if this means that you will have a lucid dream soon I don't really know but Its a positive step forward.

BTW. I have AIM it is: Kuja9998

4, Having wicked fun. Fly Fly Fly. The first thing to do is fly. Probably nothing but a float if you've never done it before but soon you'll be flying like super man. If you have trouble achiveing high speeds or flying period watch shows such as DBZ (Surprizingly it works) and the Matrix 2. (3 isn't as much flying) Try to imagine propelling your self. That is the biggest trouble imagineing what force is moving you and that has to be yourself your KI (DBZ) lol I say DBZ because they explain how they fly. lol. go online or something and catch the one where that guy teaches the girl to fly that should get you into the spirit. Anyways. Flying is fun and increases the vividness too. Fly fast enough to feel wind ripping past you. (Might seem like i'm saying how fun it is but it's important)

Too true. When lucid dreaming (I get a lucid dream every 3 days or so, usually only enough to remember the dream, tho) my favorite thing to do is fly.

Often times, lucid dreams give you what you think to be "good ideas" but are often times just stupid crap.

By "good ideas", but really "stupid crap", I mean stuff like an idea for a toy that will never work due to physics, not like "running with scisors".

Anyway, some of the good ideas I've had are the "Nacht[Insert German word here]" and "bramble powder". Usually, you'll need to rename the stuff. The original name for the "Nacht[Insert German word here]" was the Varia. Needless to say, that was taken.

Sudden realisation does work... that's the way I always become lucid. Doesn't happen that often, though, and lately I've begun to think, "What if I've just been dreaming that I was lucid?" I don't get the brightening of colours or intensity of feeling that other people describe. Hell, one of my check-methods is to slap myself around the face to see if it hurts!

One thing that definitely helps acheiving a lucid dream is to keep a dream journal. It works. Heck, the day I started a dream journal, was the day I first had a lucid dream. Here's a good link to stuff about lucid dreaming and dream journals:

in one dream i had a while ago, i told myself partway through wtf? this doesn't make sense, i didn't transfer schools. This happened for just a second, but that realization got rid of itself. Did i hit a step on becoming truly lucid? if i did is there any way i can strengthen doing this

Also, i get premonitions in my dreams occasionally. Does this mean that i shouldn't try to lucidly dream? because if im going to mess up something that i am supposed to forsee, i am not sure whether or not i should try lucid dreaming, even though i really really want to do it.

Wow, this is very cool. I'll have to try this sometime. But I do have a few questions.

1. How exactly would you get to the point where you can stay lucid for long periods of time.

2. Is it possible to get...sort of stuck? Like, you can't exit your lucid state for awhile? Or ever?

3. Do these lucid dreams bring about any premonitions?

Hm, well, I recently realized in a dream that I was dreaming, and I vaguely remembered this topic, and tried to conjure a mountain or something, and I couldn't get anything to happen...Though I have had much vaguer experiences where I think I have lucid dreams without the lucidity, i.e. I can alter the course of the dream in illogical ways without knowing I'm in a dream, but I'm not sure...

You shouldn't be worried about ruining prenominitions, those are random coincidences. Unless your unconcious mind is putting together an inevitable occurence or a logical conclusion that your concious mind doesn't reach, which I doubt...
