First of all, Dark Shiek is the last person I'd expect to see in the Paranormal boards. Second I agree that engaging in sexual actions get's you outa the dream very fast. Iremember having sex with a Twi'lek(sp?) and that got me outa the dream in an instant.

Um...hey CMDR.

Sex with Twi'lek? Should I even ask who that is...?

Anyway, to the person who said you can lucid dream and it seems like it lasts for years. It's true, but extremely hard to do. I've had a lucid dream span for a few months, but nothing more than 2 or 3. A year, while possible, is extremely unlikely.

The longest dream i've had was when I was trapped in this castle place... couldn't get out... knew it was a dream too.... got very bored very fast....

However, the longest one in which i'm aware of the exact hour count was probably one when i went through all my classes and got to my with class and then woke up..... However I do not remember most of the first classes.... i don't think i remember one.... oh well.

go online or something and catch the one where that guy teaches the girl to fly that should get you into the spirit.

That would be the one where Gohan teaches Videl to fly. He also teaches Goten.

One last thing if you have a sleep walking problem do not lucid dream if you feel you are in a lucid dream wake up immediately becuase YOU WILL act out your dream. Often killing yourself or someone else.

LMAO... For some reason, that was really funny.

Probably because I forgot to say injure or even kill.... Instead i just said kill..... thats right folks lucid dreaming and sleep walking will instantly drive you to kill; yourself and everyone around you... ;)

Kidding of course..... I meant to say that you WILL injure yourself or others some of these might casue death.... Anyways lol that is a little funny.

Seriously though if you have a serious sleep walking problem and have a lucid dream you might want to be careful. I remember an incident when someone was sleep walking and thought someone was burglerizing his home. He ended up seriously injuring. his wife that he was dreaming was a burgler........ Really was dreaming he was unconcious....

Anyways... I dont' really know if it is possible to sleep walk while being lucid.... but if you have sleep walking problems better safe than sorry.

You can sleepwalk while lucid. Sleepwalking is a problem where your brain doesn't shut down all motor functions when you sleep, so when you dream about walking, you do it in real life. It rarely leads to serious injury, but can cause people to fall down stairs.

If someone has this problem normally, it won't be any different while lucid. If you try to fly in a dream, you will most likely try in real life. That's why everyone should know whether or not they sleepwalk. My sister sleepwalks alot, and I sometimes find her outside my room at night, which is scary because my room is in the basement. If she ever found out how to lucid dream it could turn out horribly.

Anyway...yeah...

If you mean how much movement in dreams then I'd say it really doesn't matter. Just walking would do it if you have a problem with slepe walking. However, if you have never slept walk before there is absolutely nothing to worry about. Mayb a 1 in a 1000 chance that you wil get out of bed or even stir. However if you do have a sleep walking problem the odds are much higher...

PS.... IF you have ever woken up during the night and been unable to move (Sleep Paralsis) you probably have nothing to worry about regarding slepe walking.

I'm talking about a part of one of Kuja's posts:

" First the long gauranteed one: When in bed get in a comfortable position that you will never have to adjust to stay comfortable. Then DON"T MOVE. CLOSE YOUR EYES. DON"T MOVE AT ALL. Think of nothing but lucid dreams keep your mind alert though. Think of what your dream will be and repeat it will bea dream. Soon you'll feel a tingle in your hands and arms and finally your legs. This is sleep paralasis. Don't worryh its natural. Now during this time it will be very tempting ot move. DON"T stay there. And after a hour or so you will drift off and have a 100 percent chance of being lucid because your body will be gone but your brain fully functional."

I was just wondering if you could do small movements. i.e. lick your lips, wiggle your toes if they itch.

P.S. How do you do bold and italicized?

Ok, I have some comments about lucid dreaming. When I was about 5 or 6 i can remember having a lucid dream. But all I did was tell ppl that it was a dream. Also, i have been doing the "reality checks" ie. checking my watch then looking away and back to it. Last night I had a dream, and in the dream I checked my watch, but I didnt go lucid. Can you tell me any other techniques to induce lucidity? Thank you.

Sorry i didn't understand your question..... Well I don't recommend WILD methods...... They are very time consuming and almost never result in you falling asleep. However if you want to do it you got to ignore EVERYTHING. Don't move at all. The most innocent movements are those in the head. Not the neck the head. Meaning eyes and mouth. As a matter of fact i dont' think the mouth even is involved in sleep paralasis that much. OH well. Lick your lips if you have too. If the itch is bad enough itch it.... but unless you think of nothing but the dream and not move a single signle single muscle it won't work. Decide for your self.

Heh... sleep talking is pretty unusual for sure. Try laying on your side to prevent it. Often that helps..> Side or stomach either one.

Yeah, that does help. I sleepwalk occasionally, and I've noticed a direct correlation between it. Also, tylennol PM seems to give me more vivd dreams with less sleepwalking, along with opiate based substances (not ALL of them were consumed illegally, I've had prescriptions before).

I've had vivid dreams, and I've been able to control the theme of the dream by thnking about it (I once thought of fighting before sleep. All I remember was pummeling the **** out of my neighboor while chanting "Die mutah****a, die!" over and over). So, I'm pretty sure I'm close to true lucidity, considering about 2 yewars ago I couldn't remember dreams for ****.

For remembering your dreams get a dream diary.

For the person with the fetish dreams try to be completely relaxed and don't think of anything fetish while going ot bed.

Not directly on lucid dreaming but: Can we read in dreams?

Don't know if this has been answered but...

One time, I had a dream I was in Animal Crossing, and I could read the word "Boss." And in another dream I saw the word **** on a computer screen.

My progress:

A few weeks ago I did my first successful transformation. I thought it would be really cool to turn into a giant snake, but I couldn't do it! So then I thought "What am I doing wrong? Hmmm...you gotta start small...of course!" I tried changing myself into a garter snake, and it worked!!! Then I tried the big-*** building-sized snake. It WORKED!!! I could slither, grew huge, flick my tongue, all on my first new try! Now I can do it all rather easily. What do you think, Kuja?

Very impressive. Transformation is usually very difficult. GJ next try to do such things as change your setting (EG. Going from forest to desert) and changing dream objects (EG. Blowing up building by willing it.)

Thanks. I don't know why transforming into something small helped, but it did. *Remembers way back when he was 12, tried to give himself wings, but the wings were made of underwear*

Rather than spinning around to transform things, I prefer to make a warp hole that leads me from place to place. I've become good at making things appear and serve their functions, so making a warp hole works for newbs.

I've been trying for about a week now, but I still can't do it. I think it's because I have trouble having dreams. I do have some, but lately I haven't been having too many. Any tips on how to dream easier?

You'll need to try considerably longer than a week. And also, everyone dreams. You just have trouble remembering your dreams. Look back a few pages and you'll see some effective ways of remembering them.

Alright, just to make sure I'm understanding, what your saying is that if I wake up in the middle of the night and say to myself "screw it, I'm to tired to look at my hand" I should look anyway because I could be dreaming?

How realistic are the dreams suppose to be? I remember lucid dreaming once a long time ago, and I was in my house, but everything was unclear.

I remember sleep walking once when I was really small, but I havn't since. Should I still be worried?

From: Dark Shiek | Posted: 11/25/2003 6:22:59 PM | Message Detail
Lucid dreams are usually very realistic. At least, mine are. I guess it is all in how clear and realistic you want it to be. Lucid dreaming is basically based off of your own thought. If you think about something, it happens. So I guess if you think about it being realistic, it will be. Mine have always been, I never really put any extra thought into it.

And if you don't chronically sleep-walk, you should be fine.
