Love and Relationships

Simon Reynauld:
The couple went out for (continuity-wise) four years before they split up (that's long!). Simon is said to be Jill's first real love as her little "thing" with Sam was just a teenage infatuation. When they first met, Simon was very taken aback that his famous charm had no effect on her whatsoever. Jill was the very first person to have rejected his "charms", which really intrigued him. Jill, on the other hand, was similarly taken back by his easy grin and a highly sensual manner. The two almost immediately fell into a not so discreet flirting phase that was, at times, described as "raging teenage hormones". Then one day, they dropped all pretenses and inched towards the part where they were "boyfriend and girlfriend". Just as suddenly, the two broke up after Simon professed feelings for another member in the group, Naomi. The two did eventually get back together but the damage was already done. Today Simon and Jill talk occasionally but do not have the luxury of seeing each other. Simon returned to his spyboy games, travelling the globe searching for information and selling them to the highest bidder. These days, Simon is more often just a friend.

Why: What can I say? He was the original, baby. They were such a great couple, kinda like the solid rock that'd never crack. Unfortunately, it did, but that's a different story. Jill never really gave up all the feelings she had for him. Simon's the exact same way. There's always a chance that the two will get back...

Christian Darknell:
Newcomer Christian appeared on soon (conveniently :) after Si and Jill's final break up. After a series of mishaps and miscommunication, it seemed as if the shy Welshman and the more outgoing Jill would finally get together. However, Christian's involvement in the Terrorist Containment Unit (TCU) and his support for the now ruthless commander, Ski, strained relations between the two. But it wasn't all Chris's fault: he overheard a conversation between Jill and Simon in which the two confessed they still had feelings for each other. Feeling led on, Christian sought refuge in drink one night - and found himself entangled with another woman. Jill does have a slight inkling of "the other woman" but due to her own reluctance to go forward with a relationship, does not pursue the matter. She decided to keep whatever feelings she had over his illicit relationship (as much as fraternal relationships are forbidden, trysts with civilians are even worse) hidden. The result is the cool reception the two now exchange.

Why: Wellll... I dunno. I do love Si X Jill but it feels like I'm betraying that pairing if I said I liked Chris X Jill! Oh but cheer up, things are looking up: Christian's ex lover dumped him (for a corrupt doctor!) so he's single now. Plus, it seems as if I'm always writing it so that Chris and Jill will never get together... SORRY!

Noah Miller:
Yeah, that's right. The member of the Legends group that Sal once described as "the closest thing to an Amish who wears a digital watch" did have something going on with Jill. But this had something to do with two factors, of which I will soon go into further detail. Feeling incredibly heartbroken at being dumped by Simon, Jill tries to build contacts with the others to get back at Simon and his new girlfriend, Naomi. The first person she reaches out and touches happened to be Noah. Just off the rebound himself, Noah was uncharacteristically moody and enraged when his steady girlfriend Athena, blew him off for his own blood brother. Jill and Noah initially sought to funnel their anger into making bad on those who hurt them. Unfortunately, one thing led to another... Which is to say that the relationship was bad, especially for Jill. Noah played both sides of the field: at the same time he was supposed to be helping Jill "recover", he was off making "nicey" with Ski. In a weird turn of events, Noah turned out to be siphoning Jill's energy for god knows what reason as well as carrying out assasinations on seemingly random ex military people in the city. Gillian finally took him down and left him in a coma. Stung by his two-timing and deception, she refused to attend his funeral months later (he died of an unrelated cause).

Why: Lord... this has got to be one of the most mismatched couples in history. I just started it on a lark, to see to what direction Sal would take it. To my horror, the whole story totally corrupted my favourite character, Noah. But again, there are two sides to every story, and Noah did help bring out Jill's fears of commitment out in the open. Heck, Noah even let her beat the crap out of him when he told her he was seeing Ski on the side.

Sam:
He was Jill's first love. Despite being seen a jerk to everyone else, Jill saw the good in him. Of course, this flustered the scowling arrogant hooligan who didn't want any mushy thing to hurt his street rep. The two embarked slowly into a loose definition of a relationship as a couple as they entered their early teen years. According to Raine, their colleague at the lab, Sam had a soft spot for no one but Jill. He'd be a hardass to the world but a romantic to his girl. Despite their inexperience at handling such girl-boy issues, the two survived quite comfortably. As time passed, Jill grew dissatisfied and disgusted with the life she led as a mercernary-in-training. Sam tried to talk her out of escaping but to no avail. One day Raine and Jill left the training camp for good, leaving Sam to deal with the authorities. The history of antagonism between the two results from Jill's mistrust of her ex-boyfriend who had been brainwashed into commiting several crimes and Sam's resentment of being left alone to suffer torture as punishment for allowing Jill and Raine to leave. Just recently, Sam offered an olive branch when he arrived in Hawaii to be with the daughter he never knew, Rowan. As farfetched as it seemed, within the weekend he spent with Jill and Ro, Sam regained the respect and affection she once had for him. It would seem as if the two would finally make up. All this was dashed when Sam was assasinated, leaving Jill as a single parent once again.

Why: They're an okay couple. It's a complete 180-degree turn from the relationship the two shared in the original fics but you know, that's the beauty about fics

Mack:
Sal's notes - He is a bastard, kinda. And I've been known to be attracted to a certain breed of bastard assmeats. But I don't know if Jill'd be cool with that since
a) she has a tendancy to make war not love with bastards
b) She knows that even though he didn't mean to, he hurt her best friend
c) She knows said best friend is still thinggy with him. is Raine still thinggy?
The answer to her last question is yes, Raine is still in love with the sod. Why is he a sod? He does a lot of mean stuff: constantly insults Christian, peeks in the women's changing room/shower/bedroom, teases poor Raine and doesn't know how she cares for him. Mack also gave Jill the nickname of "grey eyes" and was very interested in her before being the bastard of the year by getting involved with his superior. Jill and Mack occasionally flirt, when not yelling at each other over something he did wrong.

Why: Very unlikely, this pairing. Mack had a torrid one-night stand with Jill's friend Ski, a fact that no one seems to forgive him. And as tolerant as Jill is, she's less likely to put up with his bastard-ness. There is some hope though: Mack admitted to Christian that being a "lecherous bastard" is just an act he plays. Whether or not Jill can see the real him remains to be seen.

Gavin:
He used to be the Security Director at the office when Jill was CSO; he's been promoted. Gavin's hopelessly devoted to her and is often mockingly described as her lapdog since his loyalty for Jill easily surpasses that of his for his employer.

Hair: Black, cut in a short, spiky haircut he inevitably runs his fingers through like a dirty habit
Distinguishable Features: Nervous smile, always seems tensed and often attempts to disguish his nervousness with humor and sarcasm which projects him as younger than he really is
Notes: He walks jerkily because he is always under some sort of paperwork, usually Jill's but never holds grudges against her. Gavin's always eager to be friendly with the boss and does little things like make coffee for her. In addition to being totally lovestruck, he knows nothing of Jill's past.
Inspiration: "Neil" from the Final Fantasy movie.

Dimitri:
Bad boy du jour who easily crumbles under Jill (after all, she's had practice with Si)

Age: Mid twenties
Eyes: Light brown eyes
Hair: Very dark brown hair
Distinguishable Features: Has a very nice, very hot motorbike
Notes: Breaks every bad boy rule with Jill :)
Inspiration: "Psych Boy" :P

Trent:
First noticed by Jill outside an outdoor cafe, bending down in front of her eyes to pick up his keys (to his Porsche Boxster!) from the floor. Currently, the most luckiest man in Honolulu.
Height: 6'0
Age: Early twenties
Eyes: Effable hazel eyes
Hair: Black hair, kinda curly
Distinguishable Features: Bit o' the stubble.
Notes: Wears leather pants, looks real good in them. Plus there's a reason why we call him "Acrobatic Kurt".
Inspiration: Well duh, Kurt - Marvel's Nightcrawler

Jake:
Simon's rival, who also happens to be a spy. Jill occassionally meets with him in the course of her own spywork.
Height: 6'3
Age: Mid-twenties
Eyes: Blue-grey
Hair: Frosted blond hair
Distinguishable Features: Extremely effable smirk, stubble and strong, masculine jaw... gahhh...
Notes: He's just so damn... ARGHHH!!!
Inspiration: Remember that one car commercial (forgot the maker) where this woman on the phone talks about what her ideal blind date would be and he turns out to be this... blond god?!

Heath:
He's what we call a "skirtchaser" - a known womanizer who will hit on any female he comes across and call it being "friendly".
Height: 6'2
Age: 16
Eyes: Clear blue eyes
Hair: Dark black hair
Distinguishable Features: Stylish clothes, coolest shoes and winning confidence
Notes: Just hangs out and for some reason, is always where Jill is.
Inspiration: Superboy!

Hunter:
An extreme-sports junkie/adventurer
Height: 6'0
Age: Unknown
Eyes: Amber
Hair: Spiky greyish dark hair
Distinguishable Features: Dimples when smiling
Notes: I originally thought he was supposed to be like Fox Kids' Action Man... Hunter's supposed to be more like Indiana Jones, I reckon.

Davis Li:
A very private man who works in a daycare for children with disabilities. Mack's daughter, Evie, is one of his patients.
Height: 6'0
Age: 27
Eyes: Soft slight brown eyes
Hair: Dark brown, cut sensibly
Distinguishable Features: Incredibly warm smile, when he smiles that is
Notes: Very kind and caring, especially around children, whom he just seems to nurture and calm down. He's also unmistakebly thoughtful and sweet once he feels you're worthy of his attention
Inspiration: Part Ken from Digimon (season 2), part Cody (also from Season 2).

Peter:
This shy young man works at the local museum/library as a historian - and blushes violently when around Jill or else falls to pieces when he's left alone with her.
Height: Since he's almost always hunched over, it's nearly impossible to tell
Age: Unknown
Eyes: Deep grey eyes
Hair: Shaggy ash blond hair
Distinguishable Features: Shuffles rather than walks. Hair gets in the way of his glasses too.
Notes: Licks his lips. Excessively.
Inspiration: Milo from Disney's Atlantis. Oh and Heath Ledger (its that licking thing that clinched it).

Guy Walker:
Chief Mechanic or was it Chief Engineer? He's the coworker of Feron and works for the Saints. First appeared in OV3, sheltering Rowan whilst hell broke loose in the center.

Age: 30
Eyes: Dark brown
Hair: Dark brown, swept back
Distinguishable Features: Faint jagged scar on back of left hand
Notes: A somber man who occasionally helps Jill out when she needs a favor, often by personally outfitting her Z3. Jill never ever sees his face because of three reasons:
1)He's usually covered with soot, dust or motor oil
2) He's under the hood of the car
3) He's too busy to meet her.
History is unknown (hint hint, he's gonna feature pretty big later on).
Inspiration: Would be cheating if I told you (grins).

Simon Reynauld:
Yes yes, he is an ex. That don't mean he can't be in the harem either. After all, who's she gonna call for some "pity nookie" or random booty call? Besides, Sal insisted.

Distinguishable Features: Everything.
Notes: Still charming as ever. Formerly in Iles Des Saintes covering for Dylan. After returning to Hawaii, is going back to the espionage trade.
