History
What's the big deal about Romeo and Juliet? The star-crossed lovers? Hah! Feron would know all about it.
Feron's father was the next in line to inherit the title of "Lord of Normandy" and none to happy about it, knowing that it was just another way for his overbearing father to control him. Feron's mother was a child of gypsies and struggled to dispel the myths that surrounded her people by being the first in her clan to graduate from a university. The two met, fell in love and eloped to the only place they could find peace: Miraku, Switzerland.
Years later, little Feron was born to a household full of love and life. It was certainly unusual for both parents to stay at home and lavish their attentions on their little child, but they did. Feron's first years revolved around what each parent had to teach their little Lensar, be it the names of the constellations or the words of traditional folk songs. After Feron's fourth year, his father came down with a debilitating disease. Despite the superhuman strength and health the males of his line were imbued with, they were also cursed with a shortlived life. Frantic appeals were made to Normandy family but help was refused without a reason. Soon after Feron's father died, his mother wasted away, dieing of heartbreak. Feron's maternal grandmother never forgave the patriarch of the Normandy family the pain of losing her daughter as well as son-in-law.
Now left without an heir, the patriarch gave orders to kidnap young Feron to England. There, he was forced into a conservative lifestyle and often severely punished for rebelling. Surprisingly, Feron's grandmother busted in to save him months later but what happened next is a blur.
The next memory Feron has is of his foster brothers, residing in a bleak hospice for gifted youths studied by a sinister group called the Psi-Lords.[ up ]
Love and Relationships
Saskia "Ski" Rafaeq
He was her first love. From the beginning of the relationship she adored his ways and he felt at ease with her slightly eccentric and childish ways. That was the problem though, he always thought of her as his best girl friend, if only with privileges. Feron's attempts at furthering the relationship into more territorial waters backfired when he could not bring himself to speak about it. At that time, Ski was three years younger at him at 16 and was completely oblivious. Feeling slighted and frustrated, he embarked on an affair with fellow teammate, Athena. He eventually told Ski and was surprised at her coolness, but later found out this was hurting her as much as he had feared. Unable to shake off the feelings of guilt, Feron continued to stand up for Ski, even after she almost killed Simon. At her memorial, he defended her actions and proclaimed that she is finally at peace.
Couple Rating: ****
Why: When the idea of Ski was formed, Feron was created to serve as the perfect foil. Sort of like Beatrice and Benedick from "Much Ado About Nothing". Yet as Ski's character evolved, Feron found it hard to catch up. Which is why he was feeling frustrated, emotionally and physically. I think Ski stopped being his counterpart when his character finally grew up. But the reason why they were such a good couple in the first place as because they were, in essense, so much alike.
Athena Jardin-Puteh
Their affair was what broke up Feron and Ski's relationship. It was so shocking that Feron chickened out from telling Ski how long the two had been seeing each other behind her back. The answer: a really long time.
Once, as a young teen, Feron backpacked through Southeast Asia and was stopped on the island of Bali. Thrown into jail for a scheme that went bust, he shared a cell with Athena, the leading protestor and anarchist of the area. Spoiled, arrogant and beautiful, Athena was a woman he would love to hate. The two spent the whole night arguing like mad over every single detail until daylight, then escaped together to the island Athena called home. Weeks later, Feron left Indonesia for good and swore off women.
Before the breakup, Athena was seeing Noah Miller, one of Feron's foster brothers. Despite his self-professed love for her, Athena never quite felt more than mere like. What she wanted was Feron. And for him, she would gladly drop Noah like a stone.
Now the two live together, after a failed attempt at marriage that ended in annulment. They have a child on the way and continue to bicker, but not as maliciously. They may not completely love each other, but as Feron says, they have to work hard on it.
Couple Rating: ****1/2
Why: They're almost the perfect couple: they've been through a lot and they're still together. But like I said, they're not actually in love with each other, just in love with the thought of being together. All this may or may not change with the birth of their baby.
Raine Archer
She's Jill's oldest and dearest friend who once had a thing for Feron. Now with the loss of Ski, it would cause Feron to subliminaly transfer some of the protectiveness he used to show over Ski onto Raine, especially since she's a bit like Ski (pre-psychosis). The whole thing about Raine liking Mack just kinda catalyzes it (Ski and Mack had a one night stand a few months before her death). Raine's always tried to be a negotiator and smooth things over, so naturally, she makes an attempt to make friends before enemies. She knows Feron as a friend and she'll come to appreciate/become really very annoyed with his attempts to 'guard' her.
Couple Rating: ***1/2
Why: They're a cute coupling, good for maybe a handful of stories, nothing more. The both of them are easy to get along with others.
