Open Letter From Rikki Lee Travolta

Monthly Travolta Commentary</head>

Dear Friends,

I have learned in life that there are always positives and negatives. It is up to us as individuals whether we want to focus on those positives or on the negatives. In other words, it is up to us if we want to find things to be happy about and look at obstacles as areas we can improve on; or we can dwell on what is wrong, could go wrong, or just isn't how we would prefer.

I have never claimed to have lived a charmed life. Many who don't know me personally, or know me only peripherally, think that my reluctance to talk about certain elements of my life comes from a level of secrecy. Nothing could be further from the truth. I simply find it preferable to focus on the positive elements of my life - to do all I can to enjoy the good aspects.

While I am very proud of the accomplishments I have made in my career - as an actor, singer, director, and writer - I also prefer not to rest on the laurels of my past successes. Why brag about what you have done, when you can focus on what you can do? Others may choose to live in the rear view mirror always pointing to what they once did, but I like to look forward. I prefer to live with both eyes on the road, driving at full speed towards new challenges.

Right now I have a lot of exciting things going on in my life. That doesn't mean that as a public figure I don't have difficult decisions weighing on my shoulders. However, I want to be a positive influence on those I encounter. The best way to do that is to share the positives.

I am very excited that my debut album Broadway Live! goes on sale February 11th on the Brahma Bull label. It was recorded entirely live during my performances in West Side Story and the concert A Night To Remember. My management has arranged to offer Broadway Live! at a discounted price through the Rikki Lee Travolta homepage. I am a very emotional singer, not just hitting notes, but feeling the lyrics that go with the music as well. I am proud to say that Broadway Live! aptly captures that intensity. A very special thanks to Dennis and Toni Dickey, Melinda Brasch, Jim Brown, and Jeri Neal, without whom this album would not be possible.

Also to look forward to in February, I will be returning to The Place Theatre in Pomona, California to appear with Las Vegas headliner Merilee Brasch in the concert Broadway Fantasy. I will be performing hits from Evita, Miss Saigon, Smokey Joe's Cafe, and in an ensemble number from A Chorus Line. I am extremely honored that I have also been asked to perform a special tribute to legendary Frank Sinatra during the concert - numbers will include Summer Wind and Luck Be A Lady.

Broadway Fantasy runs for a limited engagement February 11th, 12th, and 13th. Contact Alliance For Performing Arts at (909) 596-8808 for tickets. My debut album Broadway Live! will be on sale at the concert. And I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the album includes a special dedication to you, the fans.

As always I look forward to meeting each of you - for the first time, or catching up on events since our last meeting. As I alluded to before, I am currently faced with some difficult life decisions and I want to thank each of you, because it is your love and support that allows me to face those decisions with confidence instead of fear. I am your fan.

PEACE LOVE TRUST
