Lets Go Mets! Three home runs today helped the Mets get over their lack of scoring last weekend in Pittsburgh. Lucas Duda, Michael Cuddyer, and Wilmer Flores all went yard. Bartolo Colon devilishly pitched six innings allowing six hits and striking out six. Wilmer Flores shot broke up a tie games in the sixth and Jeurys Familia earned his 14th save in a scoreless ninth.

Memorial Day seats

After the Sunday game in Pittsburgh, Dan & I drove the seven hours back to New York, stopping at a Wendy's along Interstate 80. A quick fast food bite and back on the road, arriving back at my apartment a little after midnight. I awoke very early Monday morning with stomach cramps and was not feeling well at all. I rarely get sick and now I've been twice since I've been in New York. It took me some time to get moving and ready for today's day game. We had good seats but it was very warm weather and I could not sit in the sun and heat. I ended up watching about half the game in the Delta Club on a comfy chair in front of a monitor drinking water, unable to eat anything (and staying close to the men's room).

Feeling under the weather

The Mets had lots of Military personnel at the game, and the pre game festivities included a half dozen paratroopers skydiving onto the field to deliver the first pitch baseball, and a fly over by a couple Military jets. Lucas Duda's home run landed in the seats behind the bullpens in center field and was retrieved by Lt. Tim Zakriski of the Navy, who was attending his first MLB game.

Mets Win at home again!

So Dan was 5-0 for his trip to New York (He rooted for the Mets at Citi). We had a great time even with the long drive to and from Pittsburgh. I still was feeling bad after the game and took a nap before we got some Tony Roma's for a late dinner. I didn't eat much, a small cup of soup and some chicken. What a great way to clean out my system, I was ready for a colonoscopy. My bed time is early tonight as I need the rest.
