Monday
The Evening Tutorials
Arrived back around half past
four. Just time to write up some notes, eat dinner at 6:00pm and rush
off to the lab debriefing at 7:00pm. 8:00pm and we were rushing to our
chosen tutorials. You get two or three to choose from each evening. They
range from sedimentary processes, structural analysis and hand specimens
or phase diagrams to historical geology and exam techniques.
This evening I had chosen
Historical Geology as I felt confused and unclear. Rushing to the lecture
room I had this strange dream-like sensation. Well, I guess I was quite
tired. I had the feeling that I was always running to catch up but never
quite reaching my destination. Each session finishes promptly, whether
you have done all you intended to or not. Still, Historical Geology as
whizzed through by Jane was brilliant. If the other tutorials are as good,
the rest of the course will be fine. Summer school really seems to put
everything you have been studying into perspective.
Fell into bed later to sleep
the sleep of the exhausted Summer School student.
